The Tudor Prince was introduced in the mid-1950s as a watch for everyman. Originally named the Prince Oysterdate, its name is indicative of its date function and the Rolex Oyster case, bestowed by Rolex founder Hans Wilsdorf. Inside, they were powered by movements from ETA and Valjoux, offering the strength, reliability, and precision that Rolex has been known for, at a more attainable price point.
