Watch Description

from the independent master watchmaker himself. One of his earlier creations under the atelier of his own name, the genius of Retrograd Seconds is in its addition of the retrograde seconds complication without increasing the size of the base caliber (a Peseux 7001) - all in a slim 35mm x 8mm package. .In 1977, at the young age of 27, Gerber opened his own watch workshop in Zurich, where he
began making watches while working on restoring museum collections and producing watches for well-known Swiss brands. His first original watch was the Retrograde Seconds.

The watch is marked by a unique display method he came up with, a 60-second retrograde second hand, which he improved on a Swiss-made hand-wound movement.
He did not apply for a patent for this system,
so many movement manufacturers now use retrograde second hands and supply them to various brands, but
there is no doubt that the Ref.152 was the world's first retrograde second hand watch.

The dial features a mounted index number, and at 6 o'clock, Mr. Gerber's original world's first 60-second retrograde second hand keeps time.
