Watch Description

When we unveiled the original Mosaic in 2020, there was a lot of demand to have something similar in a more accessible model. Given the nature of the sapphire-based process however, this is not possible as each mosaic dial costs quite a bit more than an entire 17-series watch to produce. But the requests didn’t stop, and MT never stopped working on a visually similar – and yet, unique – process to try and bring the same depth to a larger audience.

Our fifth anniversary feels like an appropriate time to share the results of these efforts.

Back to our roots

Enter 37.07: a retrospective, matured take on the same daily wearing, horologically solid concept that gave birth to our very first watch, the 17.01. The 37.07 is reductivist, radially symmetric, layered, nuanced, has a central texture, a hand wind movement, and sits at an accessible point in our lineup. It remains a collaborative effort with Manufacture Schwarz-Etienne for engineering and assembly.

Evolution, refinement and interactivity

The similarities end there however as it’s also much more than that. It has a complex case that requires multi-axis machining to create and finish the lug twist that extends from case flanks to the bottom of the lugs.

The case is in 316L stainless steel for more wrist presence and now has a sapphire caseback to display the hand-winding SW210.M1 in a configuration unique to us – some of you may correctly recognize this as sharing a base with the 37.05 Moonphase. It’s still an inclusively wearable 38mm in diameter but wears much larger thanks to the minimal bezel; all the better to show off the new dial as well.

This watch is intended to be your everyday companion through life; 100m water resistance and a matching watersafe rubber strap by Jean Rousseau reinforces that. The strap is a new design compatible with our tuck-under buckle debuted with the 37.05.

A glowing heart

The star of the show – the dial – uses Super-LumiNova set on the centre of a brass dial; with the outer portion circular brushed. The inner portion of the dial hosts a three-layer printed mosaic (on upper, lower surfaces of the sapphire and the lower brass dial). The mosaic pattern comprises gradient and luminous elements as well. The result is layered, deep, luminous, and inversive at the same time – as has become our signature.

# MING 37.07-A GMT Review by A.I. WatchMetrics

## Watch Summary
The MING 37.07-A GMT is a sleek, modern microbrand sports watch with a 38.2mm Grade 5 titanium case, innovative sapphire bezel featuring engraved luminous markers, and a mesmerizing guilloché gradient dial in blue or black, powered by the Sellita SW330-2 automatic GMT movement with 42-hour power reserve, targeting design-savvy travelers and collectors who value originality, lightness, and everyday versatility over traditional luxury branding.

## Overall Watch Rating: 7.7/10.0

**Dials & Design Metric (9.5/10.0)** - The intricate guilloché pattern, gradient finish, and proprietary typography create a standout dial that rivals the artistry of independent high horology like F.P. Journe.

**Material Metric (9.3/10.0)** - Grade 5 titanium construction with a sapphire bezel and double-domed AR sapphire crystal delivers exceptional lightness and scratch resistance on par with premium titanium pieces from Grand Seiko.

**Versatility Metric (8.4/10.0)** - Compact sizing, 100m water resistance, and GMT functionality make it ideal for office, travel, and active use, much like a well-rounded Tudor GMT.

**Complications Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Clean traveler GMT with quick-set local hour hand and date performs reliably, comparable to mid-range GMTs from Longines.

**Movement Metric (7.5/10.0)** - The Sellita SW330-2 automatic provides smooth GMT operation at 28,800 vph with 25 jewels, matching the dependability of Hamilton or Oris calibers.

**Rarity Metric (7.0/10.0)** - Limited to just 150 pieces per colorway, it offers solid scarcity akin to other boutique microbrand runs.

**Functions Metric (7.1/10.0)** - Time, GMT, and date deliver practical daily utility without overload, on level with entry-luxury tool watches.

**Brand Metric (6.5/10.0)** - MING earns enthusiast cred for quality and innovation as a low-production Malaysian microbrand, similar to Sinn or Christopher Ward.

**History & Innovation Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Young brand with bold innovations in bezel and case engineering outpaces many newcomers but trails heritage houses like Omega.

## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.2

## WM Collector Grade: C

## Performance Insights: Strengths in dials, materials, and design shine brightly while brand prestige and history temper the score; solid value against a $5,200 implied price.

## TPS Interpretation: Fair Value: The watch provides reliable functionality with a unique aesthetic at its price.
