Watch Description
OMEGA recently celebrated its 75th anniversary by launching an exquisite line of watches available in “Summer Blue” colours. Out of all the launches, one of the spectacular watches is the OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300m Co-Axial 300M Summer Blue watch.
The Seamaster collection was introduced in 1948, and designed and produced as waterproofs for divers and water sports enthusiasts.
In 1957, Omega came out with the Seamaster 300, which was designed for professional divers. As the name suggests, it had a water resistance of up to 300 metres with a robust case and unidirectional routing bezel.
Then, in 1999, came the Co-Axial escapement, which was invented by watchmaker George Daniels in the 1970s. The purpose of this reinvention is the accuracy and longevity of watches. This range has reduced friction in motion which was a challenge earlier. This improves the performance of the watch and reduces the need for frequent maintenance.
In the year of 1993, OMEGA brought out The Seamaster Diver 300M which had a blue wave pattern dial and a helium escape valve, which became an attractive feature for divers.
2015 has always been one of the most famous years for OMEGA since they revealed the Master Chronometer Certification. It was conducted by METAS (Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology), which tested the watch's performance in various conditions such as clock accuracy and magnetic resistance. The Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42mm was one of the first models to receive this certification, making it highly resistant to magnetic fields and extremely accurate.
The watch features a 42 mm case with a wave pattern on the dial luminescence on the hands and markers for better legibility in low-light conditions. It has a ceramic bezel with a diving scale which makes it a suitable watch for diving enthusiasts. Along with its great looks, it is considered to be an incredibly accurate watch.
It features a blue ceramic bezel with a summer blue enamel diving scale that surrounds the dial and has rhodium-plated skeleton hands and raised indices that are filled with light blue Super-LumiNova.
Turning the watch over is like unveiling a hidden treasure trove of symbolism and accuracy. Here, a stamped commemorative Seamaster logo comes to life, portraying Poseidon wielding his trident, flanked by two seahorses. These seahorses, representing OMEGA's 1956 classic and contemporary design, bridge the past and the present seamlessly. Yet, the true marvel lies beneath: OMEGA's Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8800, a mechanical masterpiece meticulously crafted and certified to the industry's highest standards by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). It's a testament to OMEGA's unwavering commitment to both tradition and innovation.
