SLGH009, the latest Hi-Beat movement and Ever-Brilliant Steel

SLGH009 honors the 55th anniversary of 44GS, a Grand Seiko timepiece released in 1967 that established the design philosophy referred to as the Grand Seiko Style. This limited-edition timepiece comes with the brand’s signature 44GS case, done in Ever-Brilliant Steel for the first time in a Grand Seiko watch; a blue dial inspired by the sky; and Grand Seiko’s next-generation Hi-Beat 36000 automatic caliber, 9SA5.

Ever-Brilliant Steel is a stainless-steel alloy that features even greater corrosion resistance than what is typically used across the watch industry today. Visually, it also has a brilliant white hue that enhances the beauty and finishing of the watch.

The case measures 40mm across and 11.7mm in thickness, making it thinner than 44GS models offered in past Mechanical options. This is due to the reduced thickness of the 9SA5 caliber itself, which has a power reserve of 80 hours, an accuracy rate of +5 to -3 seconds per day, and a rate of 36,000 bph. The case comes with a box-shape sapphire, a see-through case back, and bracelet.
