Watch Description

One of Bremont’s proudest achievements to date was the beginning of an official partnership with the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in 2019, paying tribute to Her Majesty’s Armed Forces. Through this partnership, Bremont became the sole luxury watch producer legitimately allowed to use the signs, symbols and Heraldic Badges of all three services; the Royal Navy, British Army and Royal Air Force.

2020 sees the introduction of the Broadsword Bronze timepieces, adding to the original line up in Bremont’s Armed Forces Collection. The use of bronze nods to the material’s importance in naval engineering due to its high corrosion resistance to salt water. The new Broadsword case is made of CuSn8 bronze, a solid solution strengthened copper alloy with 8% tin. The high tin content adds to strength, wear and resistance to corrosion. The Bremont Broadsword was originally designed as a contemporary take on the three handed ‘Dirty Dozen’ watch design, a series of timepieces commissioned for the British Army during World War Two when Britain’s Ministry of Defence needed watches to issue to military personnel.

# Bremont Armed Forces Broadsword Bronze Review by A.I. WatchMetrics

## Watch Summary
The Bremont Armed Forces Broadsword Bronze is a robust military-inspired dive watch with a distinctive CuSn8 bronze case that develops a unique patina over time, featuring a black dial with sword hands, excellent lume, and a collaboration with the UK Ministry of Defence complete with special engravings; it's targeted at adventurers, military personnel, and collectors who appreciate tool watches with British heritage, powered by the modified automatic BE-36AE calibre offering a 38-hour power reserve.

## Overall Watch Rating: 7.6/10.0

**Material Metric (9.3/10.0)** - The bronze case paired with double AR-coated sapphire crystal and high-quality finishing rivals the material choices in premium bronze divers like the Tudor Pelagos FXD.
**Versatility Metric (8.8/10.0)** - This watch transitions seamlessly from underwater dives to everyday rugged use, outperforming many single-purpose divers like the Seiko Prospex in adaptability.
**Dials & Design Metric (8.5/10.0)** - The clean black dial, superlume sword hands, and rotating bronze bezel deliver a cohesive military aesthetic on par with IWC Aquatimer designs.
**Movement Metric (8.1/10.0)** - The in-house modified Sellita BE-36AE provides reliable automatic performance with solid decoration, comparable to Oris's calibre 400 in consistency.
**Brand Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Bremont holds strong entry-level luxury status through its aviation and military collaborations, similar to Sinn's specialist reputation.
**History & Innovation Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Bremont's Trip-Tick case technology and MoD partnerships add notable heritage, though it trails pioneers like Omega in groundbreaking contributions.
**Functions Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Standard timekeeping with date and dive bezel offers practical utility akin to the average ETA-powered luxury diver.
**Rarity Metric (7.0/10.0)** - Limited to 2,000 pieces at its price point, it matches the exclusivity of many Tudor Black Bay special editions.
**Complications Metric (3.9/10.0)** - Limited to a simple date window, it lags behind complication-rich divers like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.0

## WM Collector Grade: C

## Performance Insights: Strong showings in materials, versatility, and design elevate this bronze diver, but low complications and functions drag it down relative to its $7,000 price against an implied value of $2,800.

## TPS Interpretation: Below Average Value: The watch offers solid build quality but lacks advanced features expected at its premium pricing.
