Watch Description
We're happy to offer a stunning black and grayscale variant of our popular Zellij model. The pattern on the beautiful Zellij : Moonlight Edition is derived from the stonework of the fountains of the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. The beautifully rendered 3D printed dial is mean to evoke the serenity and majesty of a moonlit night sky.
Its name is a tribute to Zellij a distinctive style of tilework or mosaic art that is commonly found in Islamic architecture, particularly in North Africa - Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria. Skilled artisans carefully cut and arranged each tile by hand, creating stunning and mesmerizing designs. The word "zillīj" (زليج) is derived from the verb "zalaja" (زَلَجَ) meaning "to slide."
