Watch Description
Built to last, the Formex Field uses the sturdiest of available materials and a colorful selection of highly legible dials. The 41mm case and crown are made entirely from titanium grade 2. A special hardening treatment increases the Fields surface hardness from 145 Vickers to approximately 900 Vickers while retaining the light weight, comfort and hypoallergenic properties of titanium. The recessed numbers and hour markers give the dial a visible depth that is elevated by the curved outer chapter section. Numbers, markers and the brushed hands are hand-filled with old radium (100% safe) Super LumiNova that emits a bright yellowish-green at night. Adding a mere 5g to the case weight of 65g, the nylon velcro strap is durable and comfortable on the wrist. The leather straps come with Formex’s carbon composite clasp with a patented 7mm fine-adjustment. With a water resistance of 150 meters, the Formex Field Automatic is the perfect watch for any mission.

A.I. Watch Review:
# Formex Field Automatic Review by A.I. WatchMetrics
## Watch Summary
The Formex Field Automatic is a tough Swiss field watch in a 41mm 316L stainless steel case sealed via the brand's patented Essence O-ring compression system for 300m water resistance, featuring a clean dial with 12/24-hour markers, sword hands, and Super-LumiNova for superior legibility, powered by the Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with 38 hours of power reserve, targeting outdoor enthusiasts and tool watch fans who demand reliability without frills.
## Overall Watch Rating: 6.4/10.0
**Material Metric (9.0/10.0)** - Premium 316L stainless steel construction with double-sided AR-coated sapphire crystal and meticulous brushed/polished finishing matches the build quality of Sinn instrument watches.
**Versatility Metric (8.8/10.0)** - Exceptional adaptability across casual, adventure, and sports scenarios thanks to 300m water resistance, rubber strap compatibility, and balanced 41mm sizing rivals the do-it-all appeal of the Tudor Ranger.
**Dials & Design Metric (8.7/10.0)** - Highly legible matte dial with bold lume indices, 12/24-hour scale, and purposeful field aesthetics stands out like the Hamilton Khaki Field but with superior proportions.
**Brand Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Formex holds strong in the high-premium tier for its enthusiast-focused production and Swiss craftsmanship, on par with Christopher Ward's reliable tool watch ethos.
**History & Innovation Metric (6.3/10.0)** - Patented case-sealing technology and a heritage dating back to the 1990s give it solid niche appeal, similar to microbrands like Monta.
**Rarity Metric (5.1/10.0)** - At around $1,840 retail with limited microbrand output, it offers moderate exclusivity akin to other accessible Swiss independents.
**Functions Metric (4.5/10.0)** - Core timekeeping with date and hacking seconds provides everyday utility comparable to standard ETA 2824-powered field watches.
**Movement Metric (4.4/10.0)** - The Sellita SW200-1 delivers dependable automatic performance but lacks advanced finishing or chronometry found in ETA or Miyota equivalents.
**Complications Metric (3.9/10.0)** - Simple date window adds basic functionality on par with entry-level automatics like the Seiko 6R35.
## Total Performance Score (TPS): 9.9
## WM Collector Grade: A+
## Performance Insights: Excels in material, versatility, and design for tool-watch prowess while movement and complications remain workmanlike; delivers exceptional value trading at less than half its $6,400 implied price.
## TPS Interpretation: Outstanding Value: The watch vastly overperforms expectations for its price with rugged build and usability that punches into luxury territory.
