Watch Description

The exquisite Seiko SARG011 is powered by the premium Seiko 6R15 caliber self-winding movement that can also be hand wound and hacked. It is the same caliber that powers many of the Seiko Prospex line of watches. The movement has a generous 50 hour power reserve. The case has a fine brushed finish and the black dial sports highly luminous hands and hour markers. A date display is shown at the 3 o'clock position. A (curved) scratch resistant sapphire crystal is used to protect the dial along with an exhibition back that allows you to view the movement in action. Water resistant to 100 meters. This is definitely a luxury range watch that is available at an affordable price. Comes on a black leather strap with a deployant style clasp.

A.I. Watch Review:

# Seiko "Explorer" SARG011 Review by A.I. WatchMetrics

## Watch Summary
The Seiko Prospex SARG011, often nicknamed the "Explorer" for its clean dial layout, is a rugged blacked-out diver's watch reinterpreting the iconic 1965 model with a super-hard coated stainless steel case, unidirectional bezel, and robust automatic 6R35 movement offering an impressive 70-hour power reserve, ideal for adventure seekers and tool watch enthusiasts who value stealth aesthetics, exceptional lume, and Japanese dive heritage without breaking the bank.

## Overall Watch Rating: 6.5/10.0

**Material Metric (9.0/10.0)** - The super-hard black coating on stainless steel combined with dual-curved sapphire crystal and anti-reflective treatment provides top-tier durability and scratch resistance akin to high-end DLC-treated divers from Omega.
**Dials & Design Metric (8.3/10.0)** - Clean black dial with bold Lumibrite indices and hands delivers excellent legibility and a stealthy tool-watch vibe comparable to the Rolex Submariner's no-nonsense execution.
**Versatility Metric (7.9/10.0)** - This blacked-out diver transitions seamlessly from underwater adventures to casual everyday wear, outperforming chunkier pilots like the Sinn U50 in broad appeal.
**Movement Metric (7.8/10.0)** - The in-house 6R35 automatic with 70-hour power reserve, hacking, and hand-winding offers reliable performance that punches above the ETA 2824 in modern Prospex divers.
**History & Innovation Metric (7.7/10.0)** - Rooted in Seiko's legendary 1965 diver lineage with contemporary upgrades like extended power reserve, it holds strong against established icons like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.
**Rarity Metric (5.4/10.0)** - At its market price around $2,400, it offers moderate exclusivity typical of popular Prospex releases, similar to limited-run Oris divers.
**Brand Metric (5.1/10.0)** - Seiko's mid-tier status shines through its enthusiast-grade reliability and heritage, benchmarking well against peers like Citizen and Hamilton.
**Functions Metric (5.0/10.0)** - Standard timekeeping with date provides everyday utility on par with entry-level mechanical divers from Tudor.
**Complications Metric (3.9/10.0)** - A simple date window at 3 o'clock delivers basic functionality expected in this class, much like the entry-level Tag Heuer Aquaracer.

## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.0

## WM Collector Grade: C

## Performance Insights: Excels in materials, design, and movement reliability while lagging in complications and functions, delivering strong value as a stealthy tool watch under its market price.

## TPS Interpretation: Fair Value: The watch offers solid build and heritage-driven appeal with room for more features at its price point.
