Watch Description

Seiko recently released one new variant each to their incredibly popular and collectible “Samurai” and “Turtle” lines. The SRPD21 Turtle and SRPD23 Samurai are part of the highly capable Prospex series of professional dive watches, and these particular versions both include bright blue dials with intricate wave patterns (and a cameo appearance from the ultimate Alpha predator). These are both part of Seiko’s “Save the Ocean” series, with proceeds from sales benefitting the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness of ways we can protect ocean habitats and marine life.

A.I. Watch Review:

# Seiko Prospex Sea Great White Turtle Review by A.I. WatchMetrics

## Watch Summary
The Seiko Prospex Sea Great White Turtle (SRPE93) is a professional-grade dive watch in the sports and adventure style, featuring the brand's iconic cushion-shaped "Turtle" case paired with a striking white dial evoking a great white shark, bold lume-filled indices and hands for unmatched low-light legibility, and a unidirectional rotating dive bezel. It targets active adventurers, scuba enthusiasts, and value-driven collectors who demand rugged reliability without luxury pricing. Unique highlights include its affiliation with Seiko's Save the Ocean conservation initiative, exceptional Lumibrite glow, and proven 200m water resistance in a wearable package. Powered by the in-house automatic 4R36 movement offering a 41-hour power reserve, hacking seconds, and manual winding.

## Overall Watch Rating: 6.1/10.0

**Dials & Design Metric (8.8/10.0)** - The timeless Turtle cushion profile, pristine white dial, and massive Lumibrite application deliver exceptional legibility and character, on par with pricier icons like the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms.

**Versatility Metric (8.5/10.0)** - Highly adaptable from ocean dives to daily casual wear thanks to its robust build and legible design, matching the all-around utility of the Citizen Promaster Dive.

**Material Metric (8.3/10.0)** - Stainless steel case with durable Hardlex crystal and solid finishing provides pro-level toughness comparable to entry-luxury divers like the Tudor Black Bay.

**History & Innovation Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Draws on Seiko's storied diver legacy from the 1965 62MAS while using proven but unflashy tech, akin to Omega's established Seamaster evolution.

**Movement Metric (5.3/10.0)** - The dependable 4R36 automatic offers hacking and solid accuracy for the price but trails smoother, more decorated calibers in watches like the Christopher Ward C60.

**Brand Metric (5.2/10.0)** - Seiko's Prospex line delivers reliable mid-tier performance beloved by enthusiasts, similar to Hamilton's Khaki field watches.

**Functions Metric (4.7/10.0)** - Core timekeeping plus date suffices for a diver but lacks extras like GMT found in more feature-rich Seiko Monsters.

**Complications Metric (3.9/10.0)** - Simple date window adds utility without complexity, standard for basic divers versus multifunction pieces like the Longines HydroConquest.

**Rarity Metric (2.9/10.0)** - Mass-produced popular model readily available new or used, far from the scarcity of limited-run divers like the Rolex Yacht-Master.

## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.0

## WM Collector Grade: C

## Performance Insights: Strengths in dials, versatility, and materials make it a durable everyday tool watch, while rarity, functions, and complications hold it back, delivering strong bang-for-buck against its $425 implied price.

## TPS Interpretation: Entry Value: The watch offers robust dive-ready performance and iconic styling at a budget-friendly price, ideal for active users but not a standout investment.
