Watch Description
A-1 'Skyraider'
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider was one of the last few propeller driven attack aircraft to enter service. It arrived late for World War 2 and during the start of the Jet era, yet it enjoyed one of the longest careers in the US Air Force. Despite being outclassed in speed and technology by the latest jetfighters, the Skyraider held its own with a heavy payload and agility.
The Skyraider served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and it proved invaluable in providing close air support; for which jets were unsuitable.
Zelos 'Skyraider'
We christened our latest flieger the 'Skyraider' as it was developed around the handwound ETA 6498 movement. Much like the aircraft, this ETA movement is an anachronism that has been use since the 1950s. The first flieger watches featured large and easily legible dials and hands. They were also powered by handwind movements and hence we set out to design a watch with these principles but with our own touch.
Skyraider 2
The latest edition of the Skyraider features slightly more wearable dimensions at 48mm lug to lug and 10.5mm in thickness. The crown has been shortened by 1mm to avoid digging into your wrist. A full titanium bracelet with steel quick adjust clasp also comes standard.
ETA 6498
The ETA 6497/6498-1 ( model number denotes difference in subdial position ) features a power reserve of 44 hours and 17 jewels, with a beat rate of 18800bph. It started out as a Unitas pocket watch movement, but it went on to be used in a variety of watches, most notably in Panerai pieces.
In this day and age of automatic movements and ultra accurate quartz, the handwound movement brings a level of involvement with your timepiece that's absent from the newer watches.
With the rotor absent, the ETA 6498 movement is available in its full glory from the display back. We have decorated these movements with a circular Côtes de Genève engraving on the main plates, and an Anthracite PVD finish. The ratchet wheel has a 'turbine' engraving while the crown wheel features a circular pattern. All screws are blued for the final touch. Each and every movement has been engraved with the Zelos logo as well, and the non-skeleton versions are engraved '1 of 300' to denote the exclusivity of this series.
Dial and Case
The Skyraider 2 features 5 different dials made from various materials. The 'Teal' dial is stamped with a turbine pattern and a teal color which gradients to black at the edges. The Frost variant is fully lumed with contrasting black hands and indices. The Carbon variant features a slice of forged carbon which makes the patterns on each dial unique.
The Meteorite dial is cut from an actual Muonionalusta meteorite which fell in Sweden around a million years ago. Each and every dial has a different pattern which makes your watch a one-of-a-kind timepiece. The blue color is achieved through a PVD plating process.
The Skeleton version of the Skyraider is a beauty to behold. Skeleton models feature fully cut out mainplates, a 'Turbine' CNC cut mainspring barrel and hour wheel. Having a skeletonised mainspring barrel offers a quick gauge of power left in the movement based on how tightly wound the mainspring is. A skeletonised dial with brushed surfaces and polished chamfers is the final touch to this breathtaking piece.
Swiss Superluminova is also generously applied across all models, with a mix of BGW9 and C3 lume to help with visibility in the dark. The thick lume application on the hands also improves visibility for the skeleton models, making time reading a breeze.

# Zelos Skyraider 2 TI Teal LE-300 Review by A.I. WatchMetrics
## Watch Summary
The Zelos Skyraider 2 TI Teal LE-300 is a lightweight titanium pilot-diver hybrid with a bold teal brushed sandwich dial, unidirectional ceramic bezel, and fully lumed indices for excellent legibility, powered by the reliable Miyota 9015 automatic movement offering a 42-hour power reserve, ideal for adventure-oriented collectors seeking durable, limited-edition tool watch aesthetics without excessive weight.
## Overall Watch Rating: 7.1/10.0
**Material Metric (9.4/10.0)** - Grade 5 titanium case paired with AR-coated sapphire delivers premium lightweight durability on par with higher-end titanium divers like the Tudor Pelagos.
**Rarity Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Limited to just 300 pieces, it offers strong collectible appeal similar to other microbrand limited editions that hold value on the secondary market.
**Dials & Design Metric (8.7/10.0)** - The striking teal vertical brushed sandwich dial with generous BGW9 lume provides standout visual punch and functionality akin to NTH or Halios pilot-divers.
**Versatility Metric (8.6/10.0)** - Its slim titanium profile, 200m water resistance, and interchangeable straps make it highly adaptable from daily casual wear to diving adventures, much like the Sinn 856.
**Cohesiveness Metric (8.4/10.0)** - The cohesive integration of pilot cues, dive specs, and cohesive color palette creates a unified tool-watch identity comparable to well-executed microbrand designs.
**History & Innovation Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Zelos brings niche innovation through unique dial treatments and materials, establishing a solid microbrand legacy like Boldr or Dan Henry.
**Brand Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Zelos exemplifies enthusiast-grade microbrand craftsmanship with global appeal, on par with Christopher Ward or Baltic in quality-to-price ratio.
**Functions Metric (5.6/10.0)** - Standard time and date functions perform reliably but lack the breadth of multifunction tools like the Seiko Prospex Alpinist.
**Movement Metric (5.2/10.0)** - The Miyota 9015 offers dependable in-house-like performance and hacking seconds, matching entry-level Swiss calibers in everyday reliability.
**Complications Metric (4.2/10.0)** - The simple date window at 3 o'clock provides basic utility without the complexity of chronographs found in mid-tier sports watches.
## Total Performance Score (TPS): 6.5
## WM Collector Grade: B+
## Performance Insights: Excels in materials, rarity, and design for a compelling package, tempered by average movement and functions, delivering strong value well below its implied price.
