Watch Description

A Chronomaster with a lovely silver sunray dial, a large case, and the El Primero 400B automatic movement.

While the El Primero has mostly been made in its original 38mm size throughout the years, Zenith decided to release a standard issue tri-color EP in a larger, more contemporary 42mm case in 2013. Versions with a blue dial and a gray dial soon followed, each featuring a different take on the iconic tri-color design. These larger watches all featured a more spacious dial with a less controversial date window placed at 6 o’clock instead of the traditional 4:30 position. For those with larger wrists, and larger tastes, the 42mm Primero was a godsend and continues to be sought after especially now that this size has been discontinued from Zenith’s catalog.

**Material Metric (9.1/10.0)** - Premium 316L stainless steel with sapphire crystal (AR-coated), polished/brushed finishing, and ceramic bezel matches the build quality of a Rolex Submariner.

**Movement Metric (9.7/10.0)** - The El Primero 3600 offers column-wheel chronograph precision, exceptional high-beat performance, and Geneva finishing on par with top-tier Omega or IWC calibers.

**Complications Metric (8.8/10.0)** - The flyback-capable chronograph with tri-color subdials provides sophisticated functionality akin to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore.

**Functions Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Standard timekeeping, chronograph, and date deliver reliable utility similar to most luxury sports watches in this segment.

**Dials & Design Metric (9.3/10.0)** - The bold tri-color panda dial and integrated sporty case design stand out like a vintage Heuer Monaco, with superb legibility and flair.

**Versatility Metric (8.6/10.0)** - This 100m sport chrono transitions seamlessly from office to track, much like a modern Omega Speedmaster.
