3 - Aquastar / Certina / Casio - 202406122000
Collector Description

Hey guys, I just wanted to share my three watch collection with you all.

Aquastar Model 60 37mm: This reissue of the original came out not too long ago and, I loved the look of the stainless steel bezel and the size was perfect for me.

Certina DS Action Diver 38mm: Found a really good deal on it, I think you get a lot of bang for your buck even at retail. Love the power reserve on both of these.

Casio GMD-S5600BA: My workout watch, sweet reliable god tier. I had a regular 5600 in the past and unfortunately it was too big for my 6.25” wrist. Ended up finding this Japan only model, pulled the trigger instantly and haven’t regretted since.

A.I. Collection Review:
# 3 Watch Collection - Aquastar (33%) / Casio (33%) / Certina (33%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This compact collection centers on rugged dive and tool watches blending vintage reissue aesthetics, modern mechanical reliability, and digital indestructibility, targeting the budget-conscious enthusiast who prioritizes water resistance, legibility, and daily toughness over luxury; standout features include 300m capabilities on the mechanical pieces, solar power on the G-Shock, and power reserves ranging from 38 hours to indefinite. **"Rugged Dive Tool Trio"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 6.2/10.0 **Cohesiveness Metric (8.5/10.0)** - A unified dive/tool theme ties the set together seamlessly despite mechanical-digital variety, outperforming typical mixed-brand collections like a Seiko-Citizen-Tissot trio. **Functions Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Packed with dive timers, alarms, world time, and robust utility, this set punches above entry-level tool watches like the Citizen Promaster lineup. **Versatility Metric (7.8/10.0)** - Excellent across adventure, sports, and casual scenarios with strong water resistance breadth, rivaling a Hamilton Khaki Field assortment. **Material Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Solid stainless steel and sapphire dominate with resin-metal toughness adding variety, on par with mid-tier Oris divers. **Dials & Design Metric (7.0/10.0)** - Bold, legible dive motifs with good lume and bezel functionality deliver reliable appeal, comparable to Tissot Seastar designs. **History & Innovation Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Draws from Aquastar's vintage dive legacy, Certina's DS toughness, and G-Shock's shock resistance milestones, solid like a Doxa or Blancpain entry set. **Movement Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Reliable Sellita, Powermatic 80, and solar quartz mix offers good depth and diversity, akin to Seiko 5 divers. **Brand Metric (5.2/10.0)** - Mid-tier reliability from niche Aquastar, workhorse Certina, and tough Casio averages out like a Hamilton or Citizen stable. **Rarity Metric (3.8/10.0)** - Mass-produced accessible models at these prices emphasize utility over scarcity, similar to standard Invicta or Bulova divers. **Complications Metric (1.5/10.0)** - Minimal beyond basic date and bezel functions keeps it simple, below even average chronograph-inclusive sets. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.0 ## TPS Interpretation: Modest Value: The collection matches baseline expectations for its budget pricing with strong utility but no exceptional overdelivery. ## WM Collector Grade: C ## Performance Insights: Shines in functions, versatility, and cohesiveness for practical dive adventures, tempered by low rarity and complications; delivers fair value well under the TPS-implied price of $775. ## Collection Type by Style Diver/Tool (100%), Adventure (67%), Sports (33%). ## Collection Type by Movement Automatic (67%), Solar Quartz (33%). ## Collection Strengths - Uniform high water resistance (200m+) ideal for real-world aquatic use. - Impressive function diversity from solar multifunctions to extended mechanical reserves. - Cohesive theme maximizes wear rotation without redundancy. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Incorporate a luxury diver (e.g., Tudor Pelagos) to elevate brand prestige. 2. Add style variety like a field or pilot watch for broader everyday versatility. 3. Seek limited-production pieces to boost rarity and collector appeal. ## Downsizing Advice With only three complementary pieces covering mechanical and digital dive needs, retain the full set for optimal balance; if downsizing to two, prioritize the Certina for its superior power reserve and drop the Casio to focus on analog tradition. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Aquastar Model 60:** Vintage-style 39mm diver with crisp Sellita automatic and 300m rating offers classic proportions at an accessible price. **Certina Action Diver:** Robust 43mm Powermatic 80 powerhouse with 80-hour reserve and Nivachron balance excels as the collection's daily mechanical anchor. **Casio G-Shock GMD-S5600BA-1:** Solar-powered metal-clad digital beast delivers endless multifunction toughness and 200m resistance for extreme conditions. **A.I.
