Collector Description

Only been wearing watches for a couple years now, obviously did the classic bought too many watches too quickly, but after some selling I've settled on the pictured three.

My modest (aka. lower/middle-end) three watch collection:

The Citizen BN0166-01L was the watch I bought to wear at the beach. I love the blues and greens, and really love how the colours shift at different angles. Partnered this one with a Long Island Jubilee bracelet, really love how the look of the jubilee really matches the ridges/bumps around the edge of the case.

The Bulova 98K112 I bought because of it's ties to space, and I loved the panda/snoopy look. Also love that it came with a quick release metal bracelet, so swapping to the included blue leather strap isn't a massive pain in the ass, only takes about 30 seconds. Don't hate me, but I only use the chrono features to occasionally time how long I've had the tea bag in.

The green Tissot PRX 40 I received yesterday for my birthday, love the simplicity of the watch compared to the busier faces of the other two, feel like that really rounds out the collection. Love the starburst green, and love the vintage look and feel. Also bought a brown leather band that I can quick swap like the Bulova.

They're famoust last words, but I think I'm settled for a while. Starting to think about finding a birth year watch (1994) for my 30th birthday next year to fill that fourth slot in the case.

A.I. Collection Review:
# 3 Watch Collection - Citizen (33%) / Bulova (33%) / Tissot (33%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This compact collection blends practical tool watches with stylish sport pieces—a rugged 300m automatic diver from Citizen, the historically rich high-frequency quartz chronograph from Bulova's Lunar Pilot line, and Tissot's trendy quartz PRX integrated bracelet model—targeting value-driven collectors who prioritize everyday durability, heritage nods, and modern aesthetics across automatic and advanced quartz movements with power reserves from 42 hours to multi-year battery life. **"Diverse Budget Tool Trio"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 6.0/10.0 **Dials & Design Metric (7.9/10.0)** - Eye-catching dials spanning the Promaster's bold lume indices, Lunar Pilot's retro moon-inspired subdials, and PRX's textured elegance stand up to trendy integrated designs like the Tissot Seastar collection. **Versatility Metric (7.8/10.0)** - Covering dive adventures, cockpit timing, and urban casual wear, this set matches the flexibility of a Hamilton Khaki Field trio without gaps in daily scenarios. **Material Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Solid stainless steel cases paired with sapphire or mineral crystals and ceramic-insert bezels on select models deliver build quality akin to entry-level Oris divers. **History & Innovation Metric (6.8/10.0)** - Bulova's Apollo moon legacy elevates the group, comparable to a Seiko Prospex collection with niche heritage but broader innovation in high-beat quartz. **Functions Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Core timekeeping plus chronograph utility on the Bulova provides everyday competence similar to a Citizen Eco-Drive stack. **Cohesiveness Metric (5.8/10.0)** - Loose thematic ties around affordable sport tools create moderate unity, like a mixed mid-tier grab bag from Chrono24. **Brand Metric (5.2/10.0)** - Dependable mid-tier players Citizen, Bulova, and Tissot offer reliability on par with a Hamilton Jazzmaster assortment. **Movement Metric (5.2/10.0)** - A workhorse automatic Miyota alongside ultra-precise quartz movements averages out like typical Seiko 5 divers. **Complications Metric (4.2/10.0)** - The Bulova's chronograph adds flair but lacks depth, benchmarking below a full Certina DS Action set. **Rarity Metric (3.2/10.0)** - Mass-produced accessible models at these prices mirror common secondary market finds like used Seiko Sumo divers. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 9.9 ## TPS Interpretation: Exceptional Value: This collection dramatically exceeds performance expectations for its modest price point, delivering premium-like utility and heritage. ## WM Collector Grade: A+ ## Performance Insights: Excels in design, versatility, and materials while offering outstanding value equivalent to a $4,500+ curated set; weaknesses in rarity and complications are offset by strong cohesion for the cost. ## Collection Type by Style - **Diver/Tool/Adventure (33%)**: Citizen Promaster Diver - **Pilot/Racing/Collector (33%)**: Bulova Lunar Pilot (Blue) - **Sports/Casual/Statement (33%)**: Tissot PRX Quartz ## Collection Type by Movement - **Automatic (33%)**: Citizen Promaster Diver (Miyota 8204, 42 hours) - **High-Frequency Quartz (33%)**: Bulova Lunar Pilot (Blue) (262 kHz, ±5 sec/year) - **Standard Quartz (33%)**: Tissot PRX Quartz (battery, ~3 years) ## Collection Strengths - Unbeatable value from mid-tier icons with pro-level specs like 300m water resistance and moon-proven chronograph tech. - Broad scenario coverage for active lifestyles without overlap. - Blend of classic tool ruggedness and contemporary style appeals to new collectors. ## Ideas for Improvement - Incorporate a dedicated GMT or worldtimer to expand travel functionality. - Add a slim automatic dress watch for formal balance against the sport-heavy lineup. - Upgrade one quartz to a mechanical chronograph for elevated movement diversity. ## Downsizing Advice This lean three-watch set provides solid coverage across key categories with no redundancies, so hold steady; if downsizing to two, prioritize the unique Bulova Lunar Pilot for history and the Citizen Promaster for tool prowess, as the Tissot PRX's sporty integrated look is easiest to replace on the market. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Citizen Promaster Diver (300)**: Rugged 44mm automatic 300m pro diver with unidirectional bezel and reliable lume for underwater reliability. **Bulova Lunar Pilot (Blue) (895)**: Historic NASA chronograph with ultra-high-frequency quartz accuracy and distinctive blue moon dial heritage. **Tissot PRX Quartz (395)**: Sleek 40mm integrated quartz sports watch with sapphire and 100m resistance for effortless daily style. **A.I.
