3 - Farer / Baltic / Casio - 202312122023
Collector Description

Here is my current three watch collection. I’ve been on a bit of a journey this year, selling and trading on many watches to get down to this focused set of three. I love them each but would love to hear any suggestions. I’ve thought about “upgrading” the Baltic to a BB58, but I actually like how the Baltic wears better. I prefer the bracelet on the Baltic and can’t justify the price increase.

A.I. Collection Summary:

This eclectic three-watch collection juxtaposes the elegant, microbrand world timer sophistication of the Farer Stanhope II with its Sellita automatic and 24-city disc, the vintage-inspired compressor-style diving prowess of the Baltic Aquascaphe powered by a Miyota 9015 and 200m resistance, and the legendary, ultra-cheap digital resilience of the Casio F91W-1 quartz with its alarms and stopwatch, targeting the thrifty collector who values diverse tool-watch utility over thematic unity across travel, adventure, and everyday beaters.

A.I. Collection Review:
# 3 Watch Collection - Farer (33%) / Baltic (33%) / Casio (33%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This eclectic three-watch collection juxtaposes the elegant, microbrand world timer sophistication of the Farer Stanhope II with its Sellita automatic and 24-city disc, the vintage-inspired compressor-style diving prowess of the Baltic Aquascaphe powered by a Miyota 9015 and 200m resistance, and the legendary, ultra-cheap digital resilience of the Casio F91W-1 quartz with its alarms and stopwatch, targeting the thrifty collector who values diverse tool-watch utility over thematic unity across travel, adventure, and everyday beaters. **"Micro-Diver-Digital Eclectic"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 6.0/10.0 **Versatility Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Covers adventure diving, global travel timing, and beater casual duties more comprehensively than a standard Seiko Prospex trio. **Dials & Design Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Vibrant world city ring, sector-ring diver texture, and iconic pixel display deliver memorable visuals outperforming a typical Christopher Ward set. **Complications Metric (7.1/10.0)** - World timer disc, rotating dive bezel, and digital alarm/chrono offer practical extras beyond an entry-level Omega diver stack. **Movement Metric (6.7/10.0)** - Reliable Sellita GMT auto, workhorse Miyota, and precise quartz module perform steadily like a mixed Hamilton Jazzmaster collection. **Functions Metric (5.9/10.0)** - Time, date, bezel rotation, world hours, alarms, and stopwatch handle daily needs akin to a Tissot Seastar assortment. **Material Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Premium steel/sapphire cases tempered by resin digital build quality matches varied Oris tool watch groupings. **Brand Metric (5.6/10.0)** - Enthusiast micros Farer and Baltic alongside proven Casio equate to a solid Citizen or Seiko enthusiast lineup. **History & Innovation Metric (4.7/10.0)** - Casio's cult digital legacy bolsters the micros' fresh takes, on par with niche indies versus established icons like Timex. **Cohesiveness Metric (3.8/10.0)** - Stylistic and price disparities hinder unity compared to a tight-knit Baltic or Farer-only microbrand stable. **Rarity Metric (3.4/10.0)** - Mass-produced Casio dilutes micro-limited runs, similar to blending a common Timex with low-output indies. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 9.9 ## TPS Interpretation: Outstanding Value: The collection massively overdelivers on diverse quality and utility relative to its ~$550 average price per watch. ## WM Collector Grade: A+ ## Performance Insights: Versatility and dials excel for broad appeal, but low cohesion and rarity reflect its grab-bag nature; delivers premium microbrand punch at budget prices. ## Collection Type by Style Adventure (Baltic Aquascaphe diver) / Travel (Farer Stanhope II world timer) / Casual Tool (Casio F91W-1 digital). ## Collection Type by Movement Automatic (Farer Stanhope II Sellita SW330-2, Baltic Aquascaphe Miyota 9015) / Quartz Digital (Casio F91W-1 Module 592). ## Collection Strengths - Exceptional bang-for-buck with two quality automatics under $1,200 total alongside an unbeatable beater. - Broad occasion coverage from office world timing to beach diving and gym abuse. - Standout, non-mainstream designs that spark conversation over generic mall watches. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Introduce a unifying theme like all vintage-inspired tools to boost cohesion without losing diversity. 2. Add a higher-end automatic or mechanical complication to elevate overall prestige. 3. Incorporate a formal or field watch to round out style gaps beyond dive/travel/digital. ## Downsizing Advice With only three watches, retain the Farer Stanhope II and Baltic Aquascaphe for their automatic microbrand excellence and complementary tool roles, easily replacing the Casio F91W-1 with any cheap digital beater while preserving 80% of the collection's value and variety. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Farer Stanhope II:** Captivating 39mm world timer with colorful city disc and Sellita automatic smoothness, ideal for the style-savvy traveler on a budget. **Baltic Aquascaphe:** Compact 39mm vintage diver homage boasting 200m WR, Miyota reliability, and charming sector dial for everyday adventure. **Casio F91W-1:** Timeless resin digital icon with indestructible quartz, alarms, chrono, and cult status for no-nonsense utility under $25. **A.I.
