3 - Tissot / Casio / Credor - 202309122040
Collector Description

The Credor lines up perfectly with my love of ultra-thin, watches, and is so much better built than I would have expected. It comes in at 4mm at its thickest, with faceted edges around the edges of the sapphire crystal which makes it look like jewelry in the light. It also features the most delicate yet interesting sunburst pattern I've seen yet. The center is vertically brushed and the surrounding is horizontally brushed (exactly mimicking the finish on the bracelet, which is probably my favourite bracelet).

I'm not sure what there is to say about the F-91W that hasn't already been said. It's my favourite hiking watch, shown here in (arguably) the best colorway. It's also the watch I wear the most in the lab, because it's $10 and probably antimagnetic? No idea about that last part, but so far none of the rTMS trials have affected it.

Lastly, we have the PRX. Yes, everyone and their mother has one. It was my reward to myself for securing my first fully funded graduate position (the only one in my faculty). It's great and came along as a boating watch since it's the only one here with actual water resistance. I think the orange rubber strap is a lot more fun with the blue dial and really works in the summer

A.I. Collection Review:
# 3 Watch Collection - Tissot (33%) / Casio (33%) / Credor (33%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This quirky trio forms an ultra-diverse collection spanning modern integrated sports luxury from Tissot's PRX Powermatic 80 35mm with its 80-hour automatic reserve, the minimalist digital utility king Casio F91W-1, and the understated high-end Japanese quartz refinement of the vintage Credor 9570-5210, targeting a budget-conscious enthusiast who prizes everyday wearability, historical icons, and unexpected luxury without thematic unity. **"Eclectic Quartz Contrasts"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 5.6/10.0 **Brand Metric (5.3/10.0)** - Mixing reliable mid-tier Tissot and entry-level Casio with upscale Credor prestige lands squarely in average brand strength, comparable to a Hamilton or Citizen lineup. **History & Innovation Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Strong nods to the Casio's cultural digital legacy, Tissot's efficient Powermatic evolution, and Credor's quartz mastery elevate this above typical Seiko 5 collections. **Versatility Metric (7.1/10.0)** - Excellent breadth covers office-integrated sport, pocket EDC digital, and subtle dress occasions, outpacing single-style sets like all-diver assortments. **Movement Metric (7.4/10.0)** - Quartz dominance from Casio and Credor pairs well with Tissot's long-reserve automatic for reliable depth and surprising variety, better than uniform ETA-based groups. **Dials & Design Metric (6.8/10.0)** - From PRX's textured elegance and F91W's no-nonsense LCD to Credor's refined simplicity, designs offer solid appeal without matching the cohesion of a Grand Seiko trio. **Functions Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Basic timekeeping plus alarms, stopwatch, and date across the set provides everyday utility akin to a Tissot PRX solo but broadened by digital extras. **Material Metric (5.8/10.0)** - Steel and sapphire shine in Tissot and Credor but resin drags Casio down, averaging to mid-pack like a mixed Seiko/Citizen build quality. **Complications Metric (4.2/10.0)** - Minimal across simple date, alarms, and stopwatch keeps this basic, similar to entry-level tool watch stacks without advanced GMTs or chronos. **Rarity Metric (2.1/10.0)** - Mass-produced Casio ubiquity overshadows Tissot's common retail and Credor's moderate secondary scarcity, far below limited microbrand sets. **Cohesiveness Metric (3.5/10.0)** - Wildly divergent styles, eras, and powertrains lack any unifying theme, thread, or visual harmony, underperforming unified Tudor or Omega collections. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 6.7 ## TPS Interpretation: Good Value: The collection delivers diverse utility and innovation well above expectations for its modest average price point. ## WM Collector Grade: B ## Performance Insights: Strengths in movement reliability, versatility, and history shine for everyday use, while low rarity and cohesiveness suggest room for thematic focus; punches above its ~$400 average implied price. ## Collection Type by Style - StyleSports (Tissot PRX) - StyleCasual (Casio F91W) - StyleFormal (Credor 9570-5210) ## Collection Type by Movement - Automatic (Tissot Powermatic 80) - Quartz Digital (Casio Module 593) - Quartz Analog (Credor high-accuracy quartz) ## Collection Strengths - Exceptional movement variety blending long-power auto with ultra-reliable quartz for all scenarios. - Outstanding value density, offering luxury touches and icons under $1,200 total. - High versatility for daily rotation without overlap. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Introduce a unifying theme like all-quartz thin profiles to boost cohesiveness. 2. Add a true high-horology piece (e.g., Grand Seiko) to elevate brand prestige. 3. Diversify with a mechanical complication for balanced depth beyond basics. ## Downsizing Advice With only three distinct pieces offering perfect coverage (sport, digital tool, dress), retain the full set unless prioritizing luxury cohesion—then drop the Casio for a second Tissot or Credor variant. ## Watch by Watch Summary - **Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 35mm**: Standout modern integrated sports watch with 80-hour power reserve and elegant texture, ideal for daily luxury wear. - **Casio F91W-1**: Timeless digital minimalist icon with alarm and stopwatch, unbeatable for lightweight EDC utility. - **Credor 9570-5210**: Refined vintage Japanese quartz gem delivering high-end finishing and subtlety at a steal. **A.I.
