Collector Description

I've been aiming for a simple but versatile collection and I'm very happy with how it turned out. These are the final three pieces. There were many, which came and left but these three can keep me content at least for the near-mid future.

Zenith El Primero 1969 tricolor 42mm. One of the coolest chronographs out there. It wears a tad large on the wrist but can be pulled off.

Omega Seamaster 300M 42mm. My daily driver and couldn't be happier with it; dress it up or down, it does all.

Longines DolceVita midsize 43.8mm lug to lug. My latest acquisition. I've been eyeing a reverso and later a tank solo for years but didn't want to break the bank as I don't have too much use for a dress watch. This is a great and affordable alternative to those.

Over the years, I've spent a bit over €10K on these three pieces (all from AD but with tax refund), including an extra strap for each watch. What would you have chosen?

The Zenith El Primero and Omega Seamaster are standout pieces that contribute to the collection's identity, offering a blend of sportiness and elegance. ### Ideas for Improvement 1. **Add a Travel Watch**: Introducing a GMT or world-time watch would enhance the collection's versatility. Consider the Tudor Black Bay GMT, which offers robust functionality and fits within the collection's price range. 2. **Incorporate Rare Materials**: Adding a watch with unique materials, such as a ceramic or titanium case, could elevate the Material Metric. The Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, with its ceramic case, is a suitable option. 3. **Expand Complications**: Including a watch with more advanced complications, like a perpetual calendar, would enrich the collection. The Longines Master Collection Moonphase offers a sophisticated complication at an accessible price. ### Downsizing Advice To streamline the collection, consider removing the Longines Dolcevita. While it adds elegance, it overlaps with the Omega Seamaster in terms of style and does not significantly impact the collection's core theme of technical innovation and sportiness. ## Watch by Watch Summary 1. **Zenith El Primero Chronograph Tri Color (8.8) - Price Estimate: $7,200** - Brand (8.5), History & Innovation (9.5), Rarity (7.5), Material (8.0), Dials & Design (8.5), Movement (9.0), Complications (7.5), Functions (8.0), Versatility (7.5) - Known for its high-frequency chronograph movement, this watch is a cornerstone of horological history. 2. **Omega Seamaster Diver 300M (8.6) - Price Estimate: $4,033** - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (8.5), Rarity (7.0), Material (8.0), Dials & Design (8.0), Movement (8.5), Complications (7.0), Functions (9.0), Versatility (8.0) - A robust diver's watch with a Co-Axial movement, offering excellent water resistance and lume. 3. **Longines Dolcevita (8.0) - Price Estimate: $1,775** - Brand (7.5), History & Innovation (7.0), Rarity (7.0), Material (7.5), Dials & Design (8.0), Movement (7.5), Complications (6.5), Functions (7.5), Versatility (7.0) - An elegant timepiece with an art deco design, suitable for formal occasions.
