Collector Description

My perfect 4 watch collection. I personally think that 4 is the perfect number for a watch collection. I started in 2020 when i was 19 years old collecting seiko 5s. Job after job, i always set aside some money for watches, they always fascinate me , in those 4 years i made a lot of mistakes and waste a lot of money buying watch i didnt wear or liked, but now even if my watches are nothing fancy i can say i'm that proud of my collection and i will never sell those 4 watches!

A.I. Collection Review:
# 4 Watch Collection - Seiko (50%) / Tag Heuer (25%) / Glycine (25%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This collection showcases a curated selection of vintage and vintage-inspired tool watches from the late 1960s to 1980s, blending Japanese reliability with Swiss engineering through a deep-sea diver, a bold bullhead chronograph, a hi-beat lord special, and a classic pilot GMT, appealing to collectors who value historical sports watches with practical functions and characterful designs powered mostly by automatic movements (one quartz standout). **"Vintage Tool Watch Quartet"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 7.1/10.0 **Dials & Design Metric (8.3/10.0)** - Standout vintage aesthetics like the PVD panda bullhead, sunburst lord dial, and flieger GMT layout rival the visual punch of a curated 1970s Heuer or Universal Geneve set. **Versatility Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Excellent range from extreme diving and timing to world travel and daily refinement, outperforming a typical single-brand sports stack like modern Oris divers. **Rarity Metric (7.6/10.0)** - Specific vintage references such as the PVD-coated 6138-0040 and 980.013B quartz diver elevate it beyond common Seiko 5 divers at similar prices. **History & Innovation Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Iconic contributions like the Seiko Bullhead's pioneering auto-chrono and Glycine's Airman GMT legacy place it on par with respected 1970s tool watch gatherings. **Movement Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Diverse automatics including cam-lever chrono, hi-beat lord escapement, and GMT module plus a robust quartz, matching the mechanical variety of a Hamilton or Sinn assortment. **Functions Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Solid practical toolkit with chronograph, GMT, date, and extreme water resistance covers daily adventures better than basic three-handers like Citizen Eco-Drive field watches. **Cohesiveness Metric (7.0/10.0)** - Unified by 1970s-era tool watch ethos despite style diversity, akin to a balanced microbrand tool lineup but with stronger historical threads. **Material Metric (6.7/10.0)** - Competent steel cases and bezels with mixed crystals (sapphire on modern, acrylic vintage), on level with well-preserved Tudor Black Bay heritage pieces. **Brand Metric (5.8/10.0)** - Balanced by Tag Heuer's entry-luxury pull against solid mid-tier Seiko and Glycine, comparable to a mixed Christopher Ward and Baltic collection. **Complications Metric (5.6/10.0)** - Modest but effective chrono and GMT offerings fall short of high-end like Omega Speedmaster but suit the tool theme adequately. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 2.1 ## TPS Interpretation: Fair Value: The collection provides above-average historical and design strengths relative to its roughly $700 average price point. ## WM Collector Grade: B- ## Performance Insights: Excels in dials, versatility, and rarity for standout character, tempered by modest brand prestige and complications; punches above its price, implying value equivalent to a $1,200+ average collection. ## Collection Type by Style - Tool/Adventure (40%): Diver and field elements. - Sports (30%): Chronograph and racing influences. - Travel/Pilot (20%): GMT functionality. - Casual/Dress (10%): Hi-beat lord special. ## Collection Type by Movement - Automatic (75%): Seiko 6138A chrono, 5216A hi-beat, Glycine AL-372 GMT. - Quartz (25%): Tag Heuer Cal 20 high-torque diver module. ## Collection Strengths - Exceptional visual and historical appeal from rare 1970s designs like the PVD Bullhead and Airman GMT. - Strong versatility for real-world use across diving, timing, and travel. - Outstanding value density with iconic refs at accessible secondary prices. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Replace the quartz Tag with a mechanical diver like a vintage Blancpain Fifty Fathoms for full automatic cohesion. 2. Add a pure field watch to bridge the dressier Lord Matic with the tools. 3. Incorporate a higher-end complication like a true column-wheel chrono to elevate complexity. ## Downsizing Advice Prioritize keeping the Seiko 6138-0040 Bullhead as the rarest, most iconic centerpiece—consider selling the Lord Matic Special first if budget tightens, as it's the least unique in function despite its hi-beat charm. ## Watch by Watch Summary - **Tag Heuer Professional 1000 980.013B**: Rare 1980s quartz 1000m diver with helium escape valve delivers bombproof underwater performance in a stealthy black package. - **Seiko Bullhead 6138-0040**: Standout PVD-coated panda chronograph from 1969 captivates with its aggressive bullhead stance and pioneering automatic timing. - **Seiko Lord Matic Special 5216-8020**: Charming 1970s hi-beat automatic with innovative lord escapement offers refined sunburst dial elegance for everyday wear. - **Glycine Airman 18 GMT GL0226**: Dependable modern-vintage pilot GMT with sapphire and 300m resistance provides essential world-time utility in classic flieger style. **A.I.
