Collector Description

Got a little bit of everything. American, Soviet, Swiss and Japanese.
The Casio F-91W is the latest addition to my collection. I got it for a measly $8 on sale in Japan. Couldn't pass it up for that amount of money.
The Raketa Kopernik is my very first watch. I loved the hands and went on a deep dive trying to find one with as many original parts as possible within my limited budget.
The Raketa Schkolnie is my summer watch, it is basically all I wear when I'm out and about in the summer or on holiday. It's adds a nice splash of color and some playfulness to my collection. It was an absolute pain to acquire one in this good of a condition, because it's technically a kids watch. We all know how kids are...
My Oris Big Crown Pointer Date was a gift from my father. He found out that I had bought myself the Kopernik and told me that he still had an Oris watch, which had gotten too small for his wrists.
The final watch is my Bulova Accutron Spaceview. This is something I just really needed to have as an electrical engineer. It always draws interest from fellow engineers. While I would have liked one with a chapter ring, I ended up with this instead. At least it's the case I wanted.

A.I. Collection Review:
# 5 Watch Collection - Raketa (40%) / Casio (20%) / Oris (20%) / Bulova (20%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This eclectic 5-watch lineup juxtaposes the indestructible budget digital Casio F91W with a pair of quirky Soviet Raketa mechanicals—the astronomically themed Copernicus and ultra-thin Shkolnie school watch—alongside Oris's timeless Big Crown Pointer Date pilot and Bulova's groundbreaking Accutron Spaceview tuning fork electronic, creating a budget-friendly tour of vintage tool and collector pieces from diverse eras and origins, ideal for history buffs seeking character over uniformity. **"Retro Soviet Tool Eclectic"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 5.4/10.0 **Dials & Design Metric (7.4/10.0)** - Iconic layouts like the Spaceview's exposed tuning fork and Big Crown's pointer date outshine standard field watches such as the Hamilton Khaki. **Versatility Metric (7.1/10.0)** - Spanning daily beaters to pilot tools and dressy vintages, it covers more scenarios than a typical Seiko diver collection. **History & Innovation Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Standouts like the pioneering Accutron and Raketa's Soviet ingenuity lift it beyond a basic Tissot PRX set. **Movement Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Diverse powerplants from thin Raketa manuals to the accurate tuning fork exceed the reliability of entry Citizen automatics. **Material Metric (5.8/10.0)** - Solid steels dominate with decent finishing, matching the build quality of a mid-tier Hamilton without luxury flourishes. **Functions Metric (5.2/10.0)** - Basic timekeeping plus Casio alarms and Oris pointer date align with everyday utility like a standard Seiko 5. **Brand Metric (5.1/10.0)** - A mix of accessible heritage names like Oris and Bulova averages out to mid-tier reliability akin to Citizen or Hamilton. **Cohesiveness Metric (4.6/10.0)** - Loose thematic ties via vintage tool vibes are undermined by stylistic jumps, falling short of a unified Tudor diver stable. **Rarity Metric (3.2/10.0)** - Common production across most pieces trails limited microbrand runs like early Christopher Ward models. **Complications Metric (2.8/10.0)** - Minimal extras beyond the Oris pointer date lag behind even a basic chronograph like the Tissot PRX. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 5.7 ## TPS Interpretation: Exceptional Value: The collection delivers outsized historical appeal, design flair, and diversity far exceeding what's typical at its average price point. ## WM Collector Grade: A+ ## Performance Insights: Excels in dials, versatility, and history with diverse movements adding charm, while low complications and rarity temper scores; punches well above its ~$425 average implied price equivalent of $5,000+. ## Collection Type by Style - Vintage: 60% - Collector: 40% - Pilot: 20% - Casual: 20% - Tool: 20% ## Collection Type by Movement - Manual Wind: 40% - Digital Quartz: 20% - Automatic: 20% - Tuning Fork Electronic: 20% ## Collection Strengths - Exceptional historical depth from Soviet Raketas and Accutron pioneer. - High design intrigue with unique dials like Copernicus planets and Spaceview mechanics. - Impressive value and versatility for everyday-to-collector rotation. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Add a cohesive diver or GMT to bridge tool watch gaps. 2. Incorporate a modern luxury entry like Tudor for brand elevation. 3. Diversify with higher-end complications to boost functionality. ## Downsizing Advice Prioritize keeping the Bulova Accutron Spaceview and Oris Big Crown for their iconic status and higher value retention, while the Raketa Shkolnie could be the first to go as the most niche and lowest priced; the Casio serves as an irreplaceable beater but sells easily if cash is needed. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Casio F91W-1**: The ultimate resin digital beater excels in daily abuse tolerance with alarms and stopwatch on a shoestring budget. **Raketa Copernicus**: This Soviet gem captivates with its planetary dial and thin manual movement, embodying quirky Cold War horology. **Raketa Shkolnie**: A minimalist school watch offers surprising wearability in an ultra-thin package for vintage enthusiasts. **Oris Big Crown Date Pointer 7543**: Timeless pilot design with signature pointer date complication provides versatile field-ready elegance. **Bulova Accutron Spaceview**: Revolutionary tuning fork visibility and NASA heritage make it the collection's undisputed star. **A.I.
