Collector Description

Here is my collection (before you say it, I only have 4 watch slots as I’m always wearing one so no need for 5! Haha)

I’m after recommendations for my collection as I feel like I’m missing something. Let me provide some background to the collection:

Tudor Black Bay Pro - My first luxury watch purchase, have kind of fallen out of love with it. But, it’s my daily & my everywhere watch especially overseas due to the GMT function. Have considered getting a rubberized strap for it.

Rolex Air King - Vintage from 1999, 34mm. Sits fairly small on the wrist, but I only have 7/7.5inch wrists so it’s not horrendous. Again, daily wearer. Only issue is that due to the age, I wouldn’t submerge it. Possibly also on the chopping block to go.

Rolex Submariner - This is pretty much unworn, owned since 2019. Last year before the new release so picture this as more of an investment, I guess.

Omega Moonswatch - Purchased in Singapore w/ my Dad during a visit for the F1. Has sentimental value, won’t sell. Also upgraded strap.

Cartier Santos - I love this watch, never wear it on the leather. Only the metal. I scratched it the day I bought it against a wall, which adds to the story & charm (or so I keep telling myself). Won’t ever sell, very versatile, can be dressy or sporty.

I’m on the waitlist for a Datejust 36mm White Dial on a Jubilee plus a Black on Black Daytona / but still considering other options? I don’t like spending tons, after some reasonable recommendations.

A.I. Collection Review:
# 5 Watch Collection - Rolex (40%) / Cartier (20%) / Moonswatch (20%) / Tudor (20%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This eclectic collection blends iconic luxury tool watches from Rolex and Tudor with Cartier's refined Santos geometry and the playful, accessible MoonSwatch chronograph, forming a versatile lineup for the enthusiast who values heritage daily drivers, adventure-ready divers and GMs, and a touch of fun without sacrificing quality—ideal for a collector balancing investment pieces with wearable enjoyment across casual to professional settings. **"Luxury Tool Watch Blend"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 7.6/10.0 **Dials & Design Metric (8.5/10.0)** - Iconic elements like the Submariner's ceramic bezel and Santos' exposed screws deliver standout visual appeal comparable to top-tier sports icons. **Material Metric (8.5/10.0)** - Premium 316L steel cases with sapphire crystals across most pieces, boosted by MoonSwatch's innovative bioceramic and Tudor's robust finishing, rivaling Oris divers. **Brand Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Heavy Rolex prestige anchors a strong luxury mix with Cartier and Tudor, elevated like a Hamilton Khaki collection but with higher heritage. **History & Innovation Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Rolex Subs and Air-Kings carry deep dive/pilot legacy, Santos redefines rectangular elegance, akin to Omega's Moonwatch influence via the collab. **Movement Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Excellent Tudor MT5652 GMT and Rolex 3130s provide superior power reserves and accuracy, with Cartier's reliable auto offsetting the quartz outlier. **Versatility Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Covers diving, GMT travel, pilot duties, and dress occasions seamlessly, matching a Seiko Prospex lineup's adaptability. **Functions Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Solid timekeeping plus GMT and chronograph capabilities exceed a basic Tissot PRX set. **Rarity Metric (6.8/10.0)** - Discontinued Rolex refs and limited MoonSwatch drops add scarcity beyond a standard Citizen Promaster. **Cohesiveness Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Tool watch theme unites most, but MoonSwatch's quartz chrono slightly disrupts the luxury mechanical harmony. **Complications Metric (6.0/10.0)** - GMT and basic chrono present, but lacks advanced features like those in a mid-tier Longines chronograph. ## Collection Type by Style - **Tool/Sports (60%)**: Dominated by Rolex Submariner, Tudor Black Bay Pro GMT, and Air-King for robust adventure and field use. - **Dress/Sports (20%)**: Cartier Santos Large adds elegant rectangular sophistication. - **Chronograph/Statement (20%)**: Moonswatch Mission to Jupiter brings bold, colorful fun. ## Collection Type by Movement - **Automatic Mechanical (80%)**: Rolex 3130 (x2), Cartier 1847 MC, Tudor MT5652—reliable in-house calibers with 42–70h power reserves. - **Quartz Battery (20%)**: Moonswatch thermal chronograph for precise, low-maintenance operation. ## Collection Strengths - Exceptional brand prestige and historical significance from dual Rolex pieces. - High versatility for daily wear across sports, travel, and semi-formal scenarios. - Balanced value mix blending investments (~$12k Sub) with accessible fun (~$260 MoonSwatch). ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Replace MoonSwatch with an Omega Speedmaster for better mechanical cohesion and elevated complications. 2. Add a true dress watch (e.g., Nomos Tangente) to balance the heavy tool/sports focus. 3. Incorporate a high-complication piece like a phase moon to boost functions without redundancy. ## Downsizing Advice Prioritize retaining the Rolex duo and Tudor GMT as core investments and daily tools (total ~$21k value), selling the Santos (~$6.3k) for elegance redundancy and MoonSwatch (~$260) as the stylistic outlier to streamline to a cohesive 3-watch tool collection worth maintaining long-term. ## Watch by Watch Summary - **Rolex Air-King 14000**: Compact 34mm pilot classic with smooth bezel and reliable 3130 automatic, perfect understated daily wearer. - **Moonswatch Mission to Jupiter**: Vibrant bioceramic chronograph homage with velcro strap, offering fun Speedmaster vibes at entry price. - **Cartier Santos Large**: Elegant 39.8mm rectangular steel icon with quick-switch straps, bridging dress and sports seamlessly. - **Rolex 2013 Submariner No Date**: Timeless 40mm no-date diver with ceramic bezel and 300m rating, the collection's blue-chip anchor. - **Tudor Heritage Black Bay Pro GMT**: Robust 41mm traveler with 70h reserve and compass bezel, Tudor's tool watch pinnacle. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 7.2 ## TPS Interpretation: Excellent Value: The collection delivers luxury-level heritage, durability, and multifunctionality far exceeding expectations for its ~$28k total investment. ## WM Collector Grade: A- ## Performance Insights: Shines in design, materials, and brand equity with Rolex/Tudor heavyweights, while moderate cohesiveness and complications reflect the diverse mix; punches above its average ~$5.6k per-watch price with strong appreciation potential. **A.I.
