Collector Description

Hi all.
Thought I'd share my current collection. It got reduced from 9 watches I had last year and feel happy with number so far.

I had my dads seiko 5 when I was at school and from that point I was into watches. My first purchase of a watch was a fashion watch. I know, I learned my lesson. But afterwards I started doing a research and learn more about them. I bought skx007 and it was a real watch for me. I wore it for about 5 years and started buying other watches. After sometime I ended up with 9 watches and my beloved skx stopped getting a wrist time. I know people in this community say never sell your first watch and skx was a true first watch for me. But it felt a bit bad for it staying in my drawer all the time. I thought someone else would enjoy and appreciate it more than I am doing. Then I started reducing my collection to the point where I started to feel comfortable with the number of watches I have. It took me a while to bring the collection to balance but I think I finally got it. Enough watches to wear them regularly, no watch is left without a wrist time and enough watches to have it diverse.what you guys think?

The inclusion of the Omega Speedmaster Reduced adds historical depth and technical prowess, while the Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze provides a rugged, adventurous option. The collection's balance of automatic and manual movements enhances its appeal to collectors who appreciate mechanical diversity. ### Ideas for Improvement 1. **Enhance Material Variety**: Introduce a watch with exotic materials like titanium or ceramic to elevate the Material Metric. Example: **Tudor Black Bay Ceramic**. 2. **Expand Complications**: Add a watch with a moonphase or perpetual calendar to diversify the Complications Metric. Example: **Longines Master Collection Moonphase**. 3. **Increase Rarity**: Include a limited edition or unique piece to boost the Rarity Metric. Example: **Seiko Presage Limited Edition**. ### Downsizing Advice Consider removing the King Seiko Hi-beat 45-7001, as it overlaps with the Seiko Prospex in terms of brand representation and does not significantly enhance the collection's overall rating. This would streamline the collection and allow for the introduction of a piece that adds more diversity in terms of complications or materials. ## Watch by Watch Summary 1. **Omega Speedmaster Reduced (8.8)** - Price Estimate: $3,500. - Brand (8.5), History & Innovation (9.0), Rarity (8.0), Material (8.2), Dials & Design (8.5), Movement (9.0), Complications (8.0), Functions (8.5), Versatility (8.5) - Iconic chronograph with a rich history in space exploration, featuring a robust automatic movement. 2. **Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze (8.2)** - Price Estimate: $900. - Brand (7.5), History & Innovation (8.0), Rarity (7.5), Material (8.0), Dials & Design (8.0), Movement (8.5), Complications (7.0), Functions (8.0), Versatility (8.5) - Rugged field watch with a manual movement and unique bronze case, ideal for outdoor adventures. 3. **Longines Spirit (8.0)** - Price Estimate: $2,500. - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (8.0), Rarity (7.0), Material (7.8), Dials & Design (8.2), Movement (8.0), Complications (7.5), Functions (7.5), Versatility (8.0) - Classic pilot's watch with a reliable automatic movement and elegant design. 4. **Seiko Prospex SBDC101 (7.8)** - Price Estimate: $875. - Brand (7.5), History & Innovation (7.5), Rarity (7.0), Material (7.5), Dials & Design (7.8), Movement (7.8), Complications (7.0), Functions (8.0), Versatility (8.0) - Durable dive watch with high water resistance and a robust automatic movement. 5. **King Seiko Hi-beat 45-7001 (7.5)** - Price Estimate: $800. - Brand (7.0), History & Innovation (7.5), Rarity (7.0), Material (7.2), Dials & Design (7.5), Movement (7.5), Complications (6.5), Functions (7.0), Versatility (7.5) - Vintage high-beat watch with a classic design, offering a glimpse into Seiko's horological history.
