Collector Description

Hi all.
Thought I'd share my current collection. It got reduced from 9 watches I had last year and feel happy with number so far.

I had my dads seiko 5 when I was at school and from that point I was into watches. My first purchase of a watch was a fashion watch. I know, I learned my lesson. But afterwards I started doing a research and learn more about them. I bought skx007 and it was a real watch for me. I wore it for about 5 years and started buying other watches. After sometime I ended up with 9 watches and my beloved skx stopped getting a wrist time. I know people in this community say never sell your first watch and skx was a true first watch for me. But it felt a bit bad for it staying in my drawer all the time. I thought someone else would enjoy and appreciate it more than I am doing. Then I started reducing my collection to the point where I started to feel comfortable with the number of watches I have. It took me a while to bring the collection to balance but I think I finally got it. Enough watches to wear them regularly, no watch is left without a wrist time and enough watches to have it diverse.what you guys think?

A.I. Collection Review:
# 5 Watch Collection - Seiko (40%) / Omega (20%) / Hamilton (20%) / Longines (20%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This collection embodies a rugged heritage tool watch theme, blending dive, field, chronograph, vintage dress, and aviation styles for the active enthusiast who prioritizes durability, legibility, and historical significance; standout features include the Seiko Prospex's PADI dive specs, Omega's moonwatch legacy, Hamilton's patina-prone bronze, King Seiko's innovative hi-beat, and Longines' COSC precision, with movements spanning automatics (41-72 hour reserves) and manuals (48-80 hours). **"Heritage Toolwatch Brigade"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 6.9/10.0 **Brand Metric (6.5/10.0)** - Bolstered by Omega's luxury stature alongside reliable mid-tiers like Seiko and Hamilton, it matches the brand balance of a typical enthusiast's starter luxury set. **History & Innovation Metric (7.8/10.0)** - Omega Speedmaster's space heritage and King Seiko hi-beat trailblazing lift it above standard, akin to curated vintage-meets-modern assemblages. **Rarity Metric (5.5/10.0)** - Predominantly available production pieces with vintage King Seiko scarcity, comparable to everyday secondary market staples like used Seiko divers. **Material Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Stainless steel, sapphire, and distinctive bronze provide solid depth and breadth, on par with robust tool watches like the Hamilton Khaki series. **Movement Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Varied calibers from hi-beat manual to COSC automatic and 80-hour handwinds outperform basics, rivaling premium mid-tiers like Oris divers. **Complications Metric (4.8/10.0)** - Relies heavily on Omega's chronograph with little else, lagging collections featuring diversified high-end feats. **Functions Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Strong time, bezel, and chrono utility suits sport and daily needs, aligning with medians like the Citizen Promaster lineup. **Dials & Design Metric (7.8/10.0)** - Iconic textures from Turtle waves to Speedy subdials deliver standout legibility and appeal, exceeding standard field watch norms. **Versatility Metric (8.5/10.0)** - Spans dive, field, chrono, vintage, and aviation for unmatched occasion coverage, surpassing single-genre sets like all-diver troves. **Cohesiveness Metric (7.2/10.0)** - Tool watch and heritage threads unify diverse brands and eras effectively, cohesive like a thoughtful adventure curator's picks. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 9.9 ## TPS Interpretation: Outstanding Value: The collection punches far above its price with exceptional heritage, versatility, and performance. ## WM Collector Grade: A+ ## Performance Insights: Versatility, dials, history, and movements lead the charge for reliable daily drivers, offering A+ value well below the implied ~$3,500 average price. ## Collection Type by Style - Adventure/Tool (Seiko Prospex SBDC101, Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze) - Racing/Chronograph (Omega Speedmaster Reduced) - Vintage Dress (King Seiko Hi-beat 45-7001) - Aviation/Pilot (Longines Spirit) ## Collection Type by Movement - Automatic (Seiko Prospex SBDC101, Longines Spirit) - Manual/Hand-Wind (Omega Speedmaster Reduced, Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze, King Seiko Hi-beat 45-7001) ## Collection Strengths - Iconic heritage from Omega moonwatch and King Seiko hi-beat provides collector cred. - Broad versatility covers adventures, office, and weekends seamlessly. - Excellent value density with robust builds at accessible prices. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Add a GMT complication for enhanced travel functionality. 2. Incorporate ceramic or titanium cases to broaden material diversity. 3. Include a skeleton or openworked dial for visual movement appeal. ## Downsizing Advice At five watches, this is well-balanced, but if trimming to three, retain the Omega Speedmaster Reduced for timeless prestige, King Seiko Hi-beat 45-7001 for vintage rarity, and Longines Spirit for modern precision—selling the Seiko Prospex and Hamilton Khaki Field, as they overlap in tool watch duties. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Seiko Prospex SBDC101**: Beefy PADI Turtle diver excels with 200m resistance, stellar lume, and reliable automatic for aquatic pursuits. **Omega Speedmaster Reduced**: Wearable moonwatch icon delivers manual chronograph thrills in a compact package with racing heritage. **Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical Bronze**: Rugged 80-hour field watch develops unique patina in bronze for adventure-ready legibility. **King Seiko Hi-beat 45-7001**: Vintage 36,000 bph gem showcases Seiko's hi-beat innovation in elegant, collectible form. **Longines Spirit**: COSC-certified aviation auto offers 72-hour reserve and refined finishing for everyday sophistication. **A.I.
