Collector Description

A shot of my lot.

I’ve always aimed to have a pretty diverse collection of watches. A watch I could wear for each seperate occasion. For example, a watch I could wear with a tuxedo (the JLC), a watch I could wear with a rugged jacket (the Panerai), a watch I could wear with a suit (the IWC) etc.

I think I’ve managed to be fairly successful in that search but there’s still more to go.

My want-list seems to change as time goes by but I’ll always have a select few that I’ll aim toward.

Collecting watches, to me, is such a wonderful hobby. I’ve always had a love for “things” and I think the ability to not only own something as beautiful as a watch but also wear it wherever you go, creates the perfect combination for a great interest.

I’ve made friends through watches. I’ll always comment on a watch I see in public and strike up a conversation. I’ve had great chats while waiting for a coffee or buying a shirt in a store due to watches.

But the most fun of all, I think, comes from the hunt. Wanting a watch, sometimes for years, is the best part. Looking at photos. Trying it on in a store. Reading about it. Watching videos. Talking about it. These are great moments and when you finally get that piece you’ve been wanting for so long... ahh what a great moment.

Cheers to all the watch guys out there :)

The collection's focus on high-quality materials and craftsmanship further enhances its appeal. ### Ideas for Improvement 1. **Increase Rarity**: Introduce a limited edition or unique piece to enhance the collection's exclusivity. Consider the Omega Speedmaster "Silver Snoopy Award" for its limited production and historical significance. 2. **Expand Complications**: Add a watch with advanced complications, such as a perpetual calendar or tourbillon, to elevate the collection's technical depth. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual is a suitable option. 3. **Diversify Materials**: Incorporate watches with rare materials, such as meteorite dials or ceramic cases, to increase material variety. The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean with a ceramic bezel is a fitting choice. ### Downsizing Advice Consider removing the Tag Heuer Carrera CV201AJ.FC6357, as it overlaps with other sport watches in the collection and has a lower impact on the overall collection metrics. This would streamline the collection and enhance its focus on more unique pieces. ## Watch by Watch Summary 1. **Panerai Luminor 1950 3 Days (8.5) - Price Estimate: $7,000** - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (8.5), Rarity (7.5), Material (8.3), Dials & Design (8.7), Movement (8.8), Complications (7.0), Functions (9.0), Versatility (8.2) - Known for its robust design and historical significance, featuring a sandwich dial and a 3-day power reserve. 2. **JLC Master Ultra Thin Moonphase (8.7) - Price Estimate: $7,715** - Brand (8.5), History & Innovation (8.8), Rarity (8.0), Material (8.5), Dials & Design (9.0), Movement (8.9), Complications (8.5), Functions (8.0), Versatility (8.3) - Elegant design with a moonphase complication, showcasing JLC's expertise in fine watchmaking. 3. **Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M (8.6) - Price Estimate: $6,700** - Brand (8.5), History & Innovation (8.7), Rarity (8.0), Material (8.4), Dials & Design (8.6), Movement (8.8), Complications (7.5), Functions (9.0), Versatility (8.4) - Features a ceramic bezel and Co-Axial movement, known for its diving capabilities and durability. 4. **IWC Portugieser Automatic IW500107 (8.4) - Price Estimate: $7,400** - Brand (8.5), History & Innovation (8.6), Rarity (7.8), Material (8.3), Dials & Design (8.5), Movement (8.7), Complications (7.5), Functions (8.5), Versatility (8.2) - Classic design with a 7-day power reserve, highlighting IWC's precision engineering. 5. **Tudor Black Bay GMT (8.3) - Price Estimate: $3,070** - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (8.2), Rarity (7.5), Material (8.0), Dials & Design (8.3), Movement (8.5), Complications (8.0), Functions (8.5), Versatility (8.0) - Offers a GMT function with a robust build, suitable for travel and everyday wear. 6. **Tag Heuer Carrera CV201AJ.FC6357 (8.0) - Price Estimate: $2,000** - Brand (7.5), History & Innovation (7.8), Rarity (7.0), Material (7.8), Dials & Design (8.0), Movement (8.2), Complications (7.5), Functions (8.0), Versatility (7.8) - Sporty design with a chronograph function, though it overlaps with other sport watches in the collection.
