Collector Description

I've gotten to a point where all my conceivable needs are covered and I'm not really thinking about buying anything else. What is my collection missing? I'd like to add something green, maybe a DJ... but not really too keen on anything in particular at the moment. My style thus far tends to functionality and is maybe a bit orthodox, so something a little weird could be interesting.

Most recent is the Pelagos FXD M.N. - a great weekend tool watch for swimming, hikes, diving, adventures... it will get banged up, and that's fine. I was between this and a seamaster in green and ultimately glad I made this choice, I really like the easy strap changes and light titanium construction. 200m is absolutely more than enough for any recreational diver so anything else is overkill.

Speedy - I work in a business casual environment most days, and it's perfect. Very comfortable and chrono is useful. First truly nice watch I bought and I absolutely love it. It's the hesalite version, but I put a spiralwinder sapphire caseback on to see the 3861. I had been planning to get a leather strap for it but the bracelet on this generation is ridiculously comfortable so there it has stayed.

JLC Geographic - Picked this up to mark a career change. I'm now in a position that has me moving around to different countries frequently, so this complication is ideal. I can track home time or other time zones extremely easily; great legibility and incredibly useful watch. Plus it's gorgeous. Works great with a suit or business casual.

Omega Seamaster 600 ~1963 - I got this for college graduation. It's tiny, so I use it as a dress watch for black tie events. It's not in the best condition but I love the wear and tear and patina. Keeps fantastic time as well.

Seiko SKX007 - This was my weekend beater until I got the Pelagos. It served me well for many years but probably won't get much wrist time at this point. Probably for sale.

Hamilton Khaki King - my first nice watch. At this point, it's for wearing in places where theft is a risk.

"# 4 Watch Collection - Seiko (25%) / Tudor (25%) / Jaeger-LeCoultre (25%) / Omega (25%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This quartet forms a compelling tool watch progression from the budget-friendly Seiko SKX007 dive legend to Swiss heavy-hitters like the military-spec Tudor Pelagos FXD, the complication-rich Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Geographic GMT, and the heritage-packed Omega Moonwatch Professional chronograph, united by an adventure-ready theme emphasizing durability, legibility, and functional precision for active collectors who prioritize real-world performance over flash. **""Elite Adventure Tool Quartet""** ## Overall Collection Rating: 7.8/10.0 **Brand Metric (7.4/10.0)** - Spans reliable mid-tier Seiko to luxury stalwarts like Omega and Jaeger-LeCoultre, mirroring a curated enthusiast stable from Hamilton field watches to Rolex professionals. **History & Innovation Metric (7.4/10.0)** - Boasts moon-landing legacy and dual-time ingenuity alongside proven dive pedigrees, on par with established adventure icons like Blancpain Fifty Fathoms evolutions. **Rarity Metric (6.0/10.0)** - Moderated by the mass-appeal Seiko against limited-run Tudor FXD and lower-production JLC, akin to standard luxury tool watch availability on Chrono24. **Material Metric (8.8/10.0)** - Features titanium cases, sapphire crystals with AR coating, and ceramic bezels across the board, rivaling the robustness of current Rolex or Panerai divers. **Movement Metric (8.7/10.0)** - Delivers in-house COSC automatics and a column-wheel manual chronograph with superior finishing, surpassing typical mid-tier collections like Oris or Longines. **Complications Metric (7.0/10.0)** - Offers GMT world-timing with city rings and a flyback chronograph, stepping above basic divers like the Citizen Promaster. **Functions Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Provides 200m+ dive capability, dual-zone travel tracking, and stopwatch precision for versatile daily and expedition use. **Versatility Metric (8.5/10.0)** - Seamlessly transitions from ocean dives to boardroom timing and global jaunts, comparable to a Tudor Black Bay multi-role lineup. **Dials & Design Metric (8.8/10.0)** - Iconic rotating bezels, applied indices, and balanced proportions capture timeless tool aesthetics like vintage Rolex Subs. **Cohesiveness Metric (7.5/10.0)** - Bound by a rugged tool watch ethos despite brand variance, cohesive as a special forces operator's functional kit. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 9.9 ## TPS Interpretation: Exceptional Value: The collection dramatically overdelivers on heritage, build, and utility relative to its combined ~$22,000 market positioning. ## WM Collector Grade: A+ ## Performance Insights: Excels in materials, movements, design, and versatility with legendary pieces driving value; rarity tempered by entry-level staple, yet punches at a $35,000+ implied caliber. ## Collection Type by Style - Adventure/Tool: 75% (divers, chronograph) - Sports/Diver: 50% - Travel/GMT: 25% ## Collection Type by Movement - Automatic: 75% - Manual Wind: 25% ## Collection Strengths - Iconic provenance from NASA moon missions to naval collaborations, ensuring storytelling appeal. - Progressive pricing ladder offers entry-to-aspirational quality without redundancy. - Superior legibility, water resistance (200m+), and lume for practical all-conditions wear. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Add a dedicated dress watch to balance the sport-heavy lineup for formal versatility. 2. Incorporate a microbrand or vintage outlier for added uniqueness and conversation starters. 3. Explore a power reserve or annual calendar complication to amplify mechanical depth. ## Downsizing Advice No urgent cuts needed for this tight, category-covering set—dive, travel, timing, and heritage are all represented efficiently; if trimming to three, swap the Seiko for a modern Seiko Prospex ""Turtle"" upgrade, but its cult status makes it a sentimental keeper. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Seiko SKX007 Diver:** Cult-classic automatic diver with 200m resistance and unbeatable bang-for-buck at $250 secondary prices. **Tudor Pelagos FXD:** Titanium military-spec beast with fixed NATO strap, COSC MT5602 movement, and French Navy heritage. **Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Geographic:** Elegant GMT complication tracking home/away times with day-night indicators for globetrotters. **Omega Moonwatch Professional:** Legendary manual chronograph with Caliber 3861, hesalite crystal, and Apollo-proven space credentials. **A.I.
