Collector Description

Finally completed my collection and hoping for opinions.

My watch collection is finally complete (for now) and would love to get opinions. My interest in watches started with watching restoration videos and grew fascinated with the movements and build. It took a cancer diagnosis (all cut out and sorted) to encourage me to actually invest in quality watches I love that have a meaning to me.

Oris Pro pilot x Kermit - Fell in love with this on first sight and is the watch I closely associate to my diagnosis and recovery. Was bought alongside a Seiko and a Tissot but they have both been sold/gifted.

Sinn 556a RS - Really wanted a German brand watch to remind me of my time living in Germany with the Armed Forces. Originally bought a 556i Mother of Pearl but felt it was too formal for my style. This is the watch I wear most of the time outside of work.

Boldr Field Medic 1 - My work watch. Not a medic but the functions are perfect for any combat role where BLS is a huge focus. On a NATO strap with my regimental colours.

Bremont Broadsword - A British brand with a HMAF collection. Perfect watch to remember my time within the Army.

Christopher Ward C60 Atoll 300 - I am a keen scuba diver so needed to have a diving watch. Wanted to keep it relatively affordable to be more comfortable with taking abroad.

Rolex Explorer 39mm mk.2 - My most recent addition. Rolex, to me, is the epitome of luxury watch making and history. Only justified due to an insurance pay out from my diagnosis. Currently on a Weltmann strap for a formal occasion. The most versatile Rolex in my opinion.

Thank you for taking the time to read through my collection and what they mean to me.

WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This six-watch lineup forms a cohesive arsenal of professional-grade tool watches emphasizing pilot, field, and dive functionalities, blending iconic luxury like the Rolex Explorer with innovative pieces such as the Oris Propilot X Kermit Edition's 10-day reserve and Sinn's hardened engineering, ideal for the active collector prioritizing legibility, durability, and adventure utility across power reserves from 38 to 240 hours. **"Adventure Tool Watch Arsenal"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 6.9/10.0 **Cohesiveness Metric (8.5/10.0)** - Exceptional thematic unity around rugged tool watches creates a purposeful kit feel, surpassing the harmony in most multi-brand Seiko 5 collections. **Versatility Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Broad wearability from office-field to deep-dive scenarios with slim-to-bold cases suits daily rotation better than specialized Omega Ploprof sets. **Dials & Design Metric (8.3/10.0)** - Striking visuals like the Atoll's gradient blue, Kermit's vibrant green, and 556's red seconds deliver tool-watch charisma on par with IWC pilot dials. **Material Metric (8.8/10.0)** - Premium sapphire, Tegiment steel, and bronze construction with AR coatings rivals Tudor Black Bay material standards across budgets. **Movement Metric (8.2/10.0)** - Highlights including Oris's 240-hour powerhouse and Rolex's precision elevate the ETA/Sellita foundation above Hamilton Khaki autos. **Functions Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Reliable timekeeping with date options and high WR (100-300m) provides solid utility akin to Citizen Promaster basics. **Brand Metric (6.4/10.0)** - Rolex luxury anchors a capable high-premium ensemble from Sinn to CW, mirroring a polished Tudor-Oris grouping. **History & Innovation Metric (6.2/10.0)** - Rolex's exploratory legacy pairs with Sinn's material breakthroughs and Oris aviation roots, comparable to a heritage-focused Longines lineup. **Rarity Metric (5.2/10.0)** - Boosted by the limited Oris Kermit (250 pieces) and Rolex secondary appeal, on level with standard-issue Breitling pilots. **Complications Metric (3.2/10.0)** - Time-only dominance with minimal dates keeps it simple, typical of no-frills field watches like Casio G-Shocks. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 8.2 ## TPS Interpretation: Strong Value: The collection overdelivers on build quality, design flair, and thematic fit relative to its mid-range pricing. ## WM Collector Grade: A ## Performance Insights: Shines in materials, movements, dials, versatility, and cohesiveness for tool-watch excellence, tempered by basic complications; significant bargain versus $5,200 implied average price. ## Collection Type by Style - Pilot: Sinn 556 Red Second, Bremont Broadsword, Oris Propilot X Kermit Edition (3) - Field: Rolex Explorer, BOLDR Field Medic I (2) - Diver: Christopher Ward C60 Atoll 300 (1) ## Collection Type by Movement - Sellita SW200-based: Sinn 556 Red Second, Christopher Ward C60 Atoll 300 (2) - Modified ETA 2836: Bremont Broadsword (1) - Seiko NH35: BOLDR Field Medic I (1) - Rolex Caliber 3230: Rolex Explorer (1) - Oris Caliber 115: Oris Propilot X Kermit Edition (1) ## Collection Strengths - Unwavering tool-watch cohesion ideal for real-world adventure and rotation without overlap. - Outstanding movement depth from 38-hour workhorses to 10-day autonomy, punching above mid-tier norms. - Impressive value span from microbrand entry to Rolex prestige, maximizing capability per dollar. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Incorporate a GMT complication for enhanced travel functionality and complication breadth. 2. Add a vintage or dress watch to diversify beyond pure tool styles for formal balance. 3. Swap the microbrand for another limited high-premium pilot to elevate overall prestige. ## Downsizing Advice To trim to four watches, retain the Rolex Explorer (iconic core), Oris Propilot X Kermit (innovation standout), Sinn 556 Red Second (compact reliability), and Christopher Ward C60 Atoll 300 (dive utility); sell the BOLDR Field Medic I (lowest tier) and Bremont Broadsword (somewhat redundant pilot) to sharpen focus without sacrificing theme. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Sinn 556 Red Second**: Precise 38.5mm pilot distinguished by its fiery red seconds hand and scratch-proof Tegiment case for everyday toughness. **Rolex Explorer**: Legendary 36mm field explorer with 70-hour reserve and unyielding build quality defining subtle luxury. **Bremont Broadsword**: Rugged 40mm bronze aviation piece boasting British modding and 70-hour power for heritage appeal. **BOLDR Field Medic I**: Punchy 39mm micro field watch with medical-red lume accents and surprising 200m prowess at budget pricing. **Oris Propilot X Kermit Edition**: Bold 44mm limited pilot (250 pcs) featuring 10-day reserve and playful green homage dial. **Christopher Ward C60 Atoll 300**: Stylish 42mm gradient-dial diver offering 300m depth and refined finishing for the price. **A.I.
