Collector Description

SOTC as a College Student. This is my current collection go ahead and roast me, please. What are your thoughts?

Alright let’s start with the elephant in the room.

Yes, I own an Apple Watch and no, I don’t really consider it part of my collection, but since it is a watch, it’s in here. I just use it for my workouts.

Suggess Seagull ST19 Chrono - I bought this watch about three years ago and I think I just like it. Also, if anybody recognises the similarities, I am not paying for a breitling top time. Just one just brings me joy every now and then.

Kuoe Kyoto Royal smith - I bought this watch on my trip to Japan recently and I really like it because it brings a new aspect to my collection. That vintage case shape and the small case size or something entirely new to me and I think I like it so far. And the fact that I can’t seem to find the black version on their website I really enjoy as well because I think you can only get it in the store in Kyoto So it is not that likely to see other people with that watch around.

Grand Seiko 4522-8000 - This is a manual wind early GS. I love the 45 Case shape. I bought this in Tokyo for a pretty good price I think. I used to find these watches pretty boring but when I saw it in person and now every time I wear it I am reminded that the simplicity of this watch is actually one of its strengths.

Seiko Baby alipinist - HOT TAKE: I actually like the baby alpinist way better than the actual alpinist. For the price range in Seikos lineup this has a Great movement and overall this watch is a spec monster. So far this is probably my favourite watch. I love the golden hands the mat texturised dial and the fact that this Watches is built like a tank. Cannot recommend it enough.

Traska Venturer GMT - I’ve been obsessed with GMT Watches when I bought this And I am very impressed with the quality of this watch at the price. But the best thing about this watch probably is the bracelet and the comfort. I’ve had this watch on other straps as well, but I always come back to the Bracelet. This is pretty special, I think since I’m not a big bracelet guy.

FUTURE PLANS:

Right now, I am eyeballing two different kinds of watches that I really want to add.

One of which is a quart or Mecca quartz chronograph. I am aware that my seagull watch will break at some point And I am not dealing with the cost of servicing a mechanical chronograph. I was thinking of the new mission to moon phase In completely white just to have a very fun summer peace Or alternatively The seiko speed timer. Feel free to let me know your thoughts on this.

Another Watch I want to add is a diver. Ever since I sold mine, I’ve been missing one and I really want one again. I really liked the oris diver 65. But when I went and looked at it in person in Tokyo, I didn’t like it as much as I thought. What I did like when I looked at it is the Tudor black bay 58. If you have other suggestions, let me know. As you can tell, I am willing to pay more for my diver. So this watch can be anywhere between let’s say 500-5000€. Btw I also really like baltics divers.

I hope you enjoyed my little write up. I don’t think the One picture I uploaded does all the Watches justice. So look at my profile for more.

A.I. Collection Review:
# 6 Watch Collection - Sugess (17%) / Kuoe (17%) / Grand Seiko (17%) / Seiko (17%) / Traska (17%) / Apple (17%) Review by A.I. WatchMetrics ## Collection Summary This eclectic six-watch lineup centers on practical tool watches for adventure and daily wear, blending microbrand innovations like chronographs and GMTs with vintage Japanese luxury from Grand Seiko, a compact field icon from Seiko, and a smartwatch outlier from Apple, appealing to budget-conscious enthusiasts who value mechanical heritage alongside modern tech functionality. **"Eclectic Tool Tech Hybrid"** ## Overall Collection Rating: 6.9/10.0 **Versatility Metric (8.7/10.0)** - Spans field, travel, dress, and smart uses seamlessly, outpacing typical single-style collections like Seiko divers. **Functions Metric (8.6/10.0)** - Loaded with GMT rotation, field navigation, chronograph timing, and health sensors, matching the utility of Hamilton Khaki sets. **Material Metric (8.3/10.0)** - Sapphire crystals, 904L steel, and robust cases deliver dive-watch toughness akin to Oris Aquis. **Dials & Design Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Legible, textured dials with cathedral markers and vintage flair rival Tissot PRX aesthetics. **Movement Metric (7.9/10.0)** - Reliable autos, manuals, and hi-beat calibers perform like Christopher Ward C60s. **History & Innovation Metric (6.9/10.0)** - Grand Seiko's legacy shines, comparable to mid-tier Omega heritage pieces. **Brand Metric (6.3/10.0)** - Solid Japanese pillars mixed with microbrand promise, on par with Sinn enthusiast lineups. **Cohesiveness Metric (5.1/10.0)** - Tool theme loosely binds most, but smartwatch and regulator disrupt like a mismatched fashion add-on. **Complications Metric (4.6/10.0)** - Modest GMT and chrono offerings fall short of Longines Spirit complexity. **Rarity Metric (4.1/10.0)** - Production volumes and prices mirror common Seiko 5 Sports availability. ## Total Performance Score (TPS): 4.0 ## TPS Interpretation: Modest Value: The collection punches in functionality for active users but underdelivers on cohesion and exclusivity relative to its ~$695 average price. ## WM Collector Grade: C ## Performance Insights: Shines in versatility, functions, and materials for everyday adventure, but cohesion and rarity temper the score; strong starter value for diverse tastes versus pricier uniform sets. ## Collection Type by Style - Tool/Adventure (Traska Venturer GMT, Seiko Baby Alpinist): 33% - Dress/Sport (Sugess Swan Neck, Kuoe Royal Smithfield, Grand Seiko 4522-8000): 50% - Smart/Tech (Apple Watch Series 8): 17% ## Collection Type by Movement - Automatic Mechanical (Kuoe Sellita SW200-1, Seiko 6R35, Traska Miyota 9075 GMT): 50% - Manual Mechanical (Sugess Seagull 1963, Grand Seiko 4522 Hi-Beat): 33% - Electronic Smart (Apple S8 OLED): 17% ## Collection Strengths - Outstanding cross-scenario wearability from office to trail. - Punchy lume, water resistance, and build quality exceeding budget norms. - Balanced mechanical diversity with a vintage luxury highlight. ## Ideas for Improvement 1. Swap the Apple Watch for another mechanical tool to boost horological unity. 2. Add a true dive watch (e.g., 300m+) to expand adventure credentials. 3. Incorporate a power reserve indicator or moonphase for subtle complication depth. ## Downsizing Advice Prioritize the Grand Seiko 4522-8000 for heritage, Seiko Baby Alpinist and Traska Venturer GMT for tools, and Sugess Swan Neck for unique chrono flair—phase out Kuoe and Apple to create a tight 4-watch mechanical tool core without sacrificing versatility. ## Watch by Watch Summary **Sugess Swan Neck Seagull 1963**: Budget chronograph stunner with swan neck regulator and Seagull mechanical punch. **Kuoe Royal Smithfield 90-008**: Refined 904L steel dress-sport with visible swan neck Sellita auto. **Grand Seiko 4522-8000**: Elegant 1970s hi-beat vintage gem with superior finishing. **Seiko Baby Alpinist**: Compact 70-hour field legend with compass bezel utility. **Traska Venturer GMT**: Tough traveler's GMT boasting meteorite dial options and strong WR. **Apple Watch Series 8**: Feature-rich smart companion for fitness and connectivity. **A.I.
