Collector Description

Just sharing my collection that I have accumalated over the past 8 years since I got my first watch.

Casio F91W - Received this as a gift recently. As someone who isn't a big fan of G Shocks to my surprise ive really been enoying wearing this specificially at the gym the fact that its really thin and all black really makes it feel quite seemless while using it to workout.

Hamilton Khaki Field Auto 38 - This is the second watch that I purchased myself and the first that I truly spent alot of time researching and thinking about how it would fit into my collection. It serves as my dedicated Nato strap watch as I really enjoy wearing nato's. Field watches are probably my second favourite category right after dress.

Omega SMP 2220.80.00 - The first watch that probably started it all. I was lucky enough to get an opportunity to acquire this watch through a family member at a great price back then I was quite young probably around 14-15 and this was the first time I had saved up enough to buy something so expensive I was always somewhat aware of most watches and definitely quite aware of the bond watches as I used to admire them on Daniel Craigs wrist in the movies so when this casino royale ref came up it almost felt unreal that I was able to get it at that age and time.

Omega Speedmaster Cal 1861 - This was bought not too long ago I believe in 2023. This was a watch that I always liked but never considered due to the size however I was unsuccesfully looking for Grand Seiko's locally as Imo it is one of the most interesting brands for me currently and got a chance to try on the speedy at a local boutique and immediately felt like getting it as the size truly fits much better then expected. I still beleive its slightly on the larger size but since it is a sports watch im fine with it but this is probably the largest i would go.

JLC Reverso - My most recent acquisiton that I didnt have the stomach to purchase so I never really thought about owning it but I had the budget for a vacation saved up for a few years now and I havent really gone anywhere so now that im coming up on a major event in my life and getting married this year I thought why not .A "grail" watch for me since the first time i found out about it I could talk about the marketing material regarding history and JLC's importance in watchmaking but truly I coudlnt care as purely from a design perspective this is the watch that best suits me.

King Seiko 4502-7000 - A watch I came to know due to my interest in Grand Seiko's. I randomly stumbled upon the history of Seiko and its sub brands King & Grand Seiko where I watched many videos and read many articles regarding Seiko's accomplishment and the competition between the 2 factories producing KS & GS which I really enjoyed which led me to the archives of models produced where I really liked pretty much all of vintage KS as compared to GS which led me to this tastefully sized vintage KS with what I beleive has a really cool case and movement. I sometimes want to collect all of the vintage peices but trying to remain somewhat sane.

Cartier Tanks Solo/Must - So I kind of cheated this actually isnt my watch I just put it in the picture to visualise somewhat what my complete collection will look like for the next few years atleast. I am getting a Tank Must black dial as a gift on my wedding so kind of made sense to have this here to complete the picture.

Raymond Weil 2835 - Finally the RW tradition this was my first "Luxury watch" that apparantly as per my mother was gifted to my father the same year I was born by my Grandfather. I find the watch to be really elegant with the textured dial, sub seconds & the gold plated case. Being my first watch I had used this as a beater pretty much every single day for quite some time and now is not worn frequently but mostly on special occassions.

Thats it my 8 watch collection for a while hopefully some of these peices I plan to keep forever and never replacing but some I do at times think about replacing I am going to do a 1 in out out policy for the future as to not exceed 8 watches.

Let me know any thoughts or questions are welcome :D.

The collection features multiple watches with substantial horological contributions. - **Versatility Metric (9.0/10.0)** – A well-rounded collection covering multiple styles: dress (JLC Reverso, Cartier Tank Must, King Seiko 4502-7000), sport (Omega Seamaster, Moonwatch), casual (Hamilton Khaki Field, Raymond Weil 2835), and digital (Casio F91W-1). - **Dials & Design Metric (8.8/10.0)** – Strong design diversity, with timeless styles such as the Art Deco Cartier Tank, the sporty Omega Seamaster, and the dual-faced JLC Reverso. The mix of dial finishing techniques and case design enhances the overall aesthetic appeal. - **Functions Metric (8.5/10.0)** – The Moonwatch and Seamaster provide robust performance with chronograph functionality and dive features, while the Hamilton Khaki Field offers solid lume and field reliability. The F91W-1 contributes digital accuracy, while the Reverso adds a dual-time complication. - **Brand Metric (8.3/10.0)** – With heavyweights like Omega, Jaeger-LeCoultre, and Cartier, the collection maintains strong brand prestige. Hamilton, King Seiko, and Raymond Weil offer more accessible but respected alternatives, though they slightly lower the brand ranking. - **Movement Metric (8.0/10.0)** – Featuring a mix of high-end mechanical movements like the Co-Axial Master Chronometer, manual-wind calibers in the Moonwatch and Reverso, and the King Seiko’s high-beat movement, the collection achieves solid technical depth. However, the quartz Casio and entry-level Raymond Weil slightly lower the overall score. - **Material Metric (7.8/10.0)** – Stainless steel dominates the collection, with high-quality finishing in the Reverso and Cartier Tank. The Seamaster and Moonwatch add robust construction, though the absence of precious metals or exotic materials slightly limits the score. - **Complications Metric (7.5/10.0)** – The chronograph (Moonwatch), dual-time function (Reverso), and digital functionalities (Casio) add solid depth, though the collection lacks ultra-high complications such as perpetual calendars or tourbillons. - **Rarity Metric (7.2/10.0)** – While the Moonwatch and Seamaster are widely recognized, the King Seiko 4502-7000 and JLC Reverso add limited-production appeal. The Casio F91W-1 is mass-produced, which lowers the exclusivity score. - **Cohesiveness Metric (7.0/10.0)** – While the collection spans multiple styles effectively, the inclusion of the Casio F91W-1 and Raymond Weil 2835 creates a slight disconnect from the predominantly high-end mechanical lineup. --- ### **Collection Strengths** 1. **Diverse Historical Icons** – Featuring legendary watches such as the Omega Moonwatch, JLC Reverso, and King Seiko 4502-7000. 2. **Balanced Versatility** – The collection covers everything from high-end dress watches to rugged field watches and digital tools. 3. **Strong Dial & Case Design** – High aesthetic variation from classic dress pieces to sportier tool watches ensures a refined selection. --- ### **Ideas for Improvement** 1. **Enhance Complication Depth** – Introducing a watch with more advanced complications (e.g., perpetual calendar, moonphase) would elevate the collection. - **Suggested Addition:** **Longines Master Collection Moonphase ($2,700)** 2. **Increase Material Variety** – A watch featuring titanium, ceramic, or a precious metal case would enhance the material diversity. - **Suggested Addition:** **Tudor Black Bay 58 18K ($16,800)** (within 1.5x price range) 3. **Strengthen Cohesiveness** – The Casio F91W-1, while functional, feels slightly out of place. Replacing it with a mid-tier quartz luxury watch would increase unity. - **Suggested Addition:** **Grand Seiko SBGX261 ($2,200)** --- ### **Downsizing Advice** 1. **Casio F91W-1** – While iconic, it does not match the overall mechanical focus of the collection. 2. **Raymond Weil 2835** – As an entry-level dress watch, it is overshadowed by stronger dress options like the Cartier Tank Must and King Seiko. --- ### **Watch by Watch Summary** 1) **Omega Moonwatch Professional Co-Axial Master Chronometer 42mm (9.2/10.0) - $5,141** - **Brand (9.0), History & Innovation (10), Rarity (8.0), Material (8.5), Dials & Design (9.0), Movement (9.2), Complications (8.5), Functions (9.5), Versatility (9.0)** - The legendary Moonwatch with Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement, manual-wind, and a rich spacefaring legacy. 2) **Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Classic Duoface Small Seconds (8.9/10.0) - $13,300** - **Brand (9.5), History & Innovation (9.5), Rarity (8.2), Material (8.8), Dials & Design (9.2), Movement (9.0), Complications (8.0), Functions (8.3), Versatility (8.5)** - An Art Deco masterpiece with a reversible case for dual-time functionality, excellent finishing, and horological prestige. 3) **Omega Seamaster Professional 2220.80.00 (8.7/10.0) - $3,800** - **Brand (9.0), History & Innovation (9.2), Rarity (7.5), Material (8.6), Dials & Design (8.7), Movement (8.5), Complications (7.0), Functions (9.3), Versatility (9.0)** - A highly capable diver with a helium escape valve, strong lume, and a Co-Axial automatic movement. 4) **Cartier Tank Must (8.4/10.0) - $3,500** - **Elegant rectangular case, refined dial, a staple of dress watches.** 5) **Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic 38 (8.1/10.0) - $720** - **Tough and legible field watch with military inspiration.** 6) **King Seiko 4502-7000 (7.9/10.0) - $600** - **Vintage-inspired, high-beat manual-wind movement.** 7) **Raymond Weil 2835 (7.5/10.0) - $600** 8) **Casio F91W-1 (6.5/10.0) - $23**
