Avg Rating: 1369 = Stowa Marine Classic 36 (1253) / Sinn 556 I (1373) / Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Compression Diver (1481)

Collector Description:

I wanted to share my current 3 watch collection and ask what you would consider next if you were in my shoes.

I currently have:

Stowa Marine Classic - 36mm - Roman Numerals

Sinn 556i

Zodiac Super Sea Wolf

I feel my current collection hits most of my marks and use cases: Dress/GADA/Diver, Elegant/Serious/Fun, dials in White/Black/Silver.

My question today is if I were to add a 4th watch here, what would you suggest? I've been considering a GMT or a chronograph, possibly in blue or green dial. Alternatively, I could look to switch up the diver and replace the Zodiac. What do you think?

3 - Casio / Addiesdive / Citizen - 202404041025

Current Rating: 583 (Rated 11 times)

Price Based Rating: 646

Rating Alpha: -63

Avg Price: 203.33 = Casio Duro (70) / Addiesdive 1000M Pro Diver MY-H6 (140) / Citizen Attesa Super Titanium (400)

Avg Rating: 541.67 = Casio Duro (214) / Addiesdive 1000M Pro Diver MY-H6 (499) / Citizen Attesa Super Titanium (912)

Collector Description:

Just curious: would you go anywhere, do anything with any of my watches?

The first is a Casio Duro, rated to 200m water resistance. Screw-down crown. Steel case, mineral crystal lens. Casio 2784 Quartz movement.

The second is an Addiesdive MY-H6. Has a helium escape valve and is supposedly good down to 1000m. 316L steel, sapphire crystal lens. NH35 automatic.

The third is a Citizen Attesa CA0836-68E. 100m WR. Sapphire lens. B612 Eco-Drive movement.

I purchased the Duro as a cheap beater/expendable watch that I could wear if I ever felt the Attesa was too much. However, I found myself really loving this watch and opted to designate it as a semi-casual/date night/business casual watch. Even at $55, I found myself not wanting to beat this one up!

Enter the Addiesdive. I got it because it looked durable, had a sapphire lens, had killer C3 lume and was an inexpensive introduction to automatics. The 1000m WR and helium escape valve I do not put much stock in. This watch will never see anything beyond snorkeling/skin diving, so if it can handle that I am happy. I just wanted a cool diver that could handle getting beat up a little. I'll be testing the water resistance of this watch down to about 3 meters when I land in Miami next week. 😎

Now, for the Attesa. This was my first nice watch purchase. I wear it semi-casually, date nights and anywhere a nice watch is acceptable. Because it isn't a true dress watch with minimal WR, this sporty little gadget could probably go anywhere... would I? Unlikely.

Thanks for reading!

Fell in love with watches over a decade ago. In the last two years I finally took the plunge. I started with the Omega Speedmaster. Great watch, great look, great history. Next I snagged the BB58 after coming across it in McLean, VA after it being sold out for a bit. Finally this year I purchased the Cartier De Santos. I’ve loved this watch for the last 8 years and decided it was time.

Looking for suggestions on the next piece. Considering going with IWC for a Portugieser Chronograph or maybe something in the Glashütte Original family. I’ve also been eyeing the explorer II for a while so that’s in the mix. Thoughts?

Collector Description:

Just thought l'd show some of my current holdings.

First of all easy on the Hublots, they're just placeholders until I can afford Royal Oak Offshores lol. Love the presence of larger watches and the complexity of skeletonized dials.

For Rolex I went with a classic Datejust 41 white dial. This goes great with most of my suits. A batgirl as the attention grabbing hype piece.

I’ve always loved IWC as an enthusiasts brand. Their pilot chronograph designs are so timeless without trying hard at all.

For the Omega I went with a 18k Sedna Rose Gold Constellation. Constellations aren’t very known or liked but I love that about them. As subdued as the watch appears it’s always surprising how much attention and compliments it garners.

Collector Description:

A shot of my lot.

I’ve always aimed to have a pretty diverse collection of watches. A watch I could wear for each seperate occasion. For example, a watch I could wear with a tuxedo (the JLC), a watch I could wear with a rugged jacket (the Panerai), a watch I could wear with a suit (the IWC) etc.

I think I’ve managed to be fairly successful in that search but there’s still more to go.

My want-list seems to change as time goes by but I’ll always have a select few that I’ll aim toward.

Collecting watches, to me, is such a wonderful hobby. I’ve always had a love for “things” and I think the ability to not only own something as beautiful as a watch but also wear it wherever you go, creates the perfect combination for a great interest.

I’ve made friends through watches. I’ll always comment on a watch I see in public and strike up a conversation. I’ve had great chats while waiting for a coffee or buying a shirt in a store due to watches.

But the most fun of all, I think, comes from the hunt. Wanting a watch, sometimes for years, is the best part. Looking at photos. Trying it on in a store. Reading about it. Watching videos. Talking about it. These are great moments and when you finally get that piece you’ve been wanting for so long... ahh what a great moment.

Cheers to all the watch guys out there :)

Collector Description:

Pretty content with the SOTC after 13 years of collecting.

Hamilton Khaki Field Auto - A gift from my wife about 10 years ago (then-girlfriend) when we were fresh out of grad school. The quintessential field watch in my opinion.

Rolex Explorer 214270 mk 1 - My most sentimental watch. It has been on wrist for the important events in my life. A GADA watch.

Seiko SKX013 - My most recent pick up. Outdoor activity watch. Fits my smaller wrist perfectly.

Zodiac Super Seawolf GMT - My summer watch. I have fun rotating the strap colors (blues and greys mostly) and materials (rubber and different leathers) on this one.

Patek Aquanaut - My most worn at the moment. Love the design and elegant clasp. Another GADA watch.

Rolex Day-Date - Inherited this watch. Love the Roman numerals and the sportier oyster bracelet. Special occasion watch.

I miss having a dress watch so may look to add one next. Probably a JLC or maybe a Vacheron. I’m also a big fan of Nomos.
