Description:
This month’s travel Selection

I know some people freak out about traveling with watches. It is a matter of where you’re going obviously, and what you’ll be doing there, so I don’t mean to be flip. If I’m going to some tourist hotspot I’m just wearing my Moon Swatch, I get it…

But it’s been a business trip, had to go to NY and Shanghai, so here’s my travel selection. I also have a lot of metal and leather bracelets with color stones that I wear mainly on the other wrist.

Im very happy and grateful to get to own these watches. I’m posting this because I know there are a few fellow watch nerds here beyond the usual brands, so I’m just sharing my joy.

4 - Omega / H Moser Cie / A Lange Sohne / H Moser Cie - 202401312251
Current Rating: 2603 (Rated 9 times)

Rating Alpha: 106
Avg Price: 22442.5 = Omega White Gold Moonphase Speedmaster (18500) / H Moser Cie Pioneer Centre Seconds (15000) / A Lange Sohne 1815 Up Down Gold (25000) / H Moser Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis LE-50 (31270)
Avg Rating: 2490 = Omega White Gold Moonphase Speedmaster (2421) / H Moser Cie Pioneer Centre Seconds (2338) / A Lange Sohne 1815 Up Down Gold (2574) / H Moser Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Genesis LE-50 (2627)
Description:
I’ve been fortunate to add a few notable pieces to my collection recently and thought I would share for the Lange, Moser, and Speedy fans out there.

Omega Speedster Moonphase in white gold - This was produced in small numbers (< 500 total) starting in 1999 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Apollo 11, though there is no mention of Apollo 11 on the watch. Gorgeous dial, I’m a huge fan of all the silver/white dial Speedy variants, and the gold case has a nice weight to it. Thrilled to add this to the Speedmaster collection.

H. Moser Pioneer in arctic blue - A new, smaller Pioneer (40mm) released this year. The arctic blue fume sunburst dial is gorgeous, not fully captured in photos, but it really pops in any light. The watch is a brilliant sports watch with screw-down crown, 100m water resistance, and very comfortable rubber strap. True GADA option.

A. Lange 1815 up/down in white gold - One of my favorite Lange designs, just so clean and balanced on the dial. An unbelievable pleasure to wear. Hard not to stare at all the time. The blued hands are perfect and the silver dial has noticeable warmth to it. I’m always a bit cautious with watches under 40mm as they can seem small to me (this is 39mm), but the design and weight of this make it a spot on. [Tax paid]

H. Moser Endeavour Genesis - another GADA option, or not! Definitely an art piece but a beautiful collectible at that, released this year in a limited edition of 50 as the first installment in an envisioned triptych exploring the intersection of high horology and modern tech. Even if it’s not the most practical for daily wear, it’s beautifully executed and unique. I mean, who else 3D prints titanium? Also Moser does not disappoint on movement and finish. 4 - Zenith / Vacheron Constantin / Vacheron Constantin / Vincent Calabrese - 202401200326

Description:
Sharing the four watches in my current rotation that get a lot of wrist time.

Zenith Chronometer Sport: Always been a fan of Zenith and the chronomaster sport. Love the sub dials and the useful date function.

VC Triple Calendrier: A slightly bigger watch but similar lug design a well finished watch overall. The sunburst dial along with the choice of font for the hour markers gives it a Neo vintage look.

VC Cornes De Vachs: I am biased here, but personally I feel this is the most handsome watch ever made. Love the design of the lugs and the proportions.

NHC Ottica: This is from an independent watch-maker named Vincent Calabrese, who is credited for the golden bride tourbillon. In addition to the rare jump/wandering hours complication, the watch has another party trick. When turned a bit, the time indications seem to disappear and all you see is an endless crystal expanse; hence the name Ottica (for optical illusion).

Edit: The watchbox is from Scatola Del Tempo

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/1996c4k/rotation_current_rotation/?share_id=CCAGRc7HMRWUabtZQkjq3&utm_content=1&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

4 - Rolex / JLC / JLC / JLC - 202404212234
Current Rating: 2487 (Rated 12 times)
Price Based Rating: 2405
Rating Alpha: 82
Avg Price: 17772.5 = Rolex Explorer (8590) / JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar (28500) / JLC Ultra Thin Master Control Rose Gold Alligator 34mm (8000) / JLC Duometre A Chronographe (26000)
Avg Rating: 2335.25 = Rolex Explorer (2127) / JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar (2591) / JLC Ultra Thin Master Control Rose Gold Alligator 34mm (2068) / JLC Duometre A Chronographe (2555)
Description:
I only paid retail on explorer and everything else was from the secondary market. I think I paid 55k in total. Still is a lot. I was lucky to have done research into AI in grad school back in the 2010s and invested early into hardware needed to run transformers. As someone that works in software, I have grown to appreciate mechanical and handcrafted artistry

Rolex Explorer, 40mm -- The Explorer is my favorite field watch. It's funny that Rolex is viewed as a luxury when it is historically the most serviceable watch brand. I love the simplicity of the black dial with arabic numerals at the corners (a common theme in my small collection). This is the only Rolex I will ever own.

JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar -- This is the first watch I fell in love with, and it is usually worn daily. I love the color mix of silver, black, and blue with the brown strap and the simplicity of the Kurt Klaus design to keep everything in sync. I was worried about being too concerned about not being able to go back in time and accidentally overcorrecting the date, but that only happened once.

JLC Master Ultra Thin -- This is the peak JLC ultra-thin for me, featuring corner arabic numerals and knife hour markers. It houses their thinnest production caliber, Caliber 849, which can be argued as the peak JLC watch since Jaeger and LeCoultre first partnered together when Jacques-David LeCoultre accepted a challenge by Edmond Jaeger to manufacture an ultra-thin watch he designed, the Caliber 145. The 849 at 1.38mm is the modern spiritual successor to the Caliber 145. The direct lineage involves a consistent focus on miniaturization and precision, with each new generation of calibers building upon the knowledge and techniques developed from the previous ones. This color combination is my favorite of the ultra-thin models.

JLC Duomètre Chronograph -- One thing that always frustrated me about chronographs was that the main center hand was used as the chronograph hand, and the clock seconds hand was relegated to a subdial. I love that this watch has both hands at the center. I am also fond of the fact that it is a mono-pusher. Chronographs put me off without a flyback mechanism and can never see myself ever owning a Speedmaster, Daytona, etc.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/F0L0053gZ6

Description:
Condensed my collection into 4.

Absolutely love my current collection. Recently sold my Submariner date and my rhodium Yachtmaster to make way for the Snoopy. The Snoopy is the only one I went grey for, didn't want to play the AD games and potentially miss out on such an amazing watch

On the list for a couple of AP's but after 3 years of waiting I'm not sure they're ever going to come through.

Would also love a Lange but not sure how likely it is to get a Lange 31 right off the bat? Description:
Gathered a collection of 4 that (for me at least) does everything I need.

Panerai 01313 Blue Sunburst: a daily beater. Robust, heavy and very waterproof, the Pan is my go to sports watch (alongside my trusty Apple Watch!)

Grand Seiko SLGH011 Green Birch: a fun weekend watch to match a casual chic wardrobe. By far the most mesmerizing dial amongst the 4.

AP 15500 Black Dial: A classic for any occasion.

IWC Ingenieur Aqua: the latest addition to the collection. Simply could not resist that Aqua dial.

Looking for another to add to the collection. Thinking of adding one from that brand that begins with an R and ends with an olex… what about a Sky Dweller chocolate/everose gold or one with a blue dial and stainless steel?

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/vhvIPzizr8

Description:
Left to right:

Pepsi: Managed to pick up a Pepsi after over half a year. Been wanting one for a while and glad I got it before Watches and Wonders-- although the discontinuation rumor has been going around for ages, it would suck if it actually came true before I managed to get one. Love it so far. I chose Oyster bracelet over Jubilee because (prepare to crucify me) the Jubilee gives me trypophobia and I think it looks bad on anything without a fluted bezel.

JLC Master Control Calendar (Blue): My first mechanical watch and sort of an impulse buy. I had my eye on a normal MCC but when the limited run of 800 blue ones came out I knew I preferred that one instead. I had zero hopes of finding one until I saw it in the boutique and picked it up on the spot. Paid for the overpriced bracelet too, although I switch with the leather frequently to dress it up.

Pelagos 39: Durable watch. I usually wear it on the silicone which makes it very comfortable. The lightness and durability make a great daily.

CW Bel Canto (Green): Something a bit quirky. Managed to snag one of 300 in my preferred color for the Bel Canto. The green dial is actually very dynamic and changes from bright teal to clover green depending on the angle at which you look at it. I regret getting the titanium bracelet as it scratches very easily, and the green strap would have been great to accentuate the dial. May pick up the strap in the future. Love the chime.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/mq6gSIxQUL

Description:
Hey all - thought I’d share my collection with you guys. As I was taking this pic, I realized I may have a “type” when it comes to watch color schemes… may need to expand my palette! Bought most of these over the past 5ish years, hope you enjoy (or at least don’t roast me too hard lol)!

🚀 Speedmaster - one of the first nice watches I bought. Recently serviced and still gets a ton of wrist time. I know some people bitch about it being cliche yada yada but I think it’s a masterpiece.

🏄♂️ Seamaster 300M - swapped out the bracelet as I’m not a fan of the one it comes on, but this one feels a little clunky. May try rubber or a NATO next. Any recos?

🤵♂️ JLC MUT Moon - my dress watch (duh). Always wanted one of these and finally purchased a year or so ago. Absolutely love this thing and always looking for ways to wear it a bit more often.

🦇 GMT 2 - most recent addition as of last week and I could not be more pleased with it. Had trouble sourcing but finally got one through a friend who has a good AD relationship. I just think it looks so fucking cool and I love the jubilee. New daily driver.

Ok, ciao.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/jFv33TuDKo
