Collector Description:

Diversity I’m happy with for now.

Collection has changed quite a bit since I started collecting a few years ago through learning what I like and didn’t like, but diversity was always important to me. What are some cool pieces that would go well in a collection like this?

I’ve been eyeing; orange or aquamarine Doxa 300, broad arrow Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster with the interchangeable bezel on beads of rice, red Tudor BB 41 on jubilee, Hamilton Intramatic Chrono, to name a few.

Rate my collection.

Moser - minimalistic design is typically for them. I wanted one of their watches with this VantaBlack Dial. Whitegold/Gold/Platin Case with this Dial was too expensive for me.

IWC - This watch I’m wearing most of my time

Rolex - I love this dial, all others of them are boring 🥱 for me.

A Lange Sohne Odysseus - It’s a first official stainless steel watch by A. Lange & Söhne. I liked the brand for almost 20 years. Of course I wanted their first stainless steel watch I love the design and how it looks on the wrist. Royal Oak, Nautilus, Overseas or any other of this kind of watches I simply don’t like, because of their design and hype! I bought what I like, and not what social media tells I have to 😉

A Lange Sohne Lange One - My all time favorite! I recognize that ~20 years ago and wanted it sooo badly for so long, I was 5 years ago able to buy it!

Example: Casio Edifice EFV-100D-1AV, which offers a sleek design suitable for business settings. 3. **Increase Complications**: Add a watch with more advanced complications, such as a chronograph or perpetual calendar, to enhance the Complications Metric. Example: Casio Edifice EQB-1000D-1A, featuring a chronograph and Bluetooth connectivity. ### Downsizing Advice To streamline the collection, consider removing the Casio Tank LTP-B165L-5BV. While it offers a classic design, it overlaps with the versatility provided by the other two watches and has a lesser impact on the overall collection metrics. ## Watch by Watch Summary 1. **Casio G-Shock GW-M5610U-1JF Tough Solar (8.5) - Price Estimate: $128** - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (7.5), Rarity (6.5), Material (7.5), Dials & Design (7.3), Movement (8.0), Complications (6.5), Functions (9.0), Versatility (8.5) - A rugged, solar-powered watch with shock resistance and advanced features, ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. 2. **Casio Duro (8.0) - Price Estimate: $70** - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (7.0), Rarity (6.0), Material (7.0), Dials & Design (7.0), Movement (7.5), Complications (6.0), Functions (8.5), Versatility (8.0) - A robust diver's watch with high water resistance, perfect for water sports and outdoor activities. 3. **Casio Tank LTP-B165L-5BV (7.5) - Price Estimate: $85** - Brand (8.0), History & Innovation (6.5), Rarity (6.0), Material (7.0), Dials & Design (7.0), Movement (7.5), Complications (5.5), Functions (7.5), Versatility (7.5) - A classic and elegant design suitable for casual and semi-formal settings, offering versatility in everyday wear.

Collector Description:

Just got back from a two-week long vacation to Japan and went a bit overboard with my watch purchases. I knew going into the trip that I'd be picking up at least a couple pieces but I did not expect to come home with eight new pieces!

For those enthusiasts planning a Japan trip, BIC camera is definitely appropriately praised (I had the best luck in Ginza where I found the gorgeous Orient Star duo). Kyoto's Kuoe was also a pleasant surprise. I visited initially planning to just see what it's about but was blown away by the bronze old smith and was sold with the store-only blue dial iteration. Knot got me in a similar manner with both the Salmon Dial Tonneau and Yokohama LE Square pieces being boutique only (and quite hard to find at that).

The absolute pinnacle of my visit however, was none other than the infamous Nakano Broadway which definitely lived up to the hype. I got a bit carried away here spending half a day just walking the countless used watch stores. I ended up picking up the coveted SBGP007, a Mondaine Stop2Go (super random find), and a solid gold 18K Baume & Mercier on a handmade Japanese Alligator strap.

Overall, I'm very happy with this haul. I'll likely need to sell a couple of these as, in retrospect, I purchased too many pieces early in the trip out of excitement. A few of these however are absolute keepers. The Kuoe and Knot pieces are all engraved and the GS is one I've wanted for some time now. I think I'll be taking it easy on collecting for a while!

Top 10 after 4 years. Used to be all Seikos until last year. Totally gave in to the Swatch collaborations. I’ve decided to stop for now to save up for a higher end one in time for my 40th but I still can’t decide between an Omega Speedmaster, Tudor Black Bay, or Grand Seiko.

Collector Description:

5 years, 5 promotions, 5 watches. I definitely have a type.

Over the past 5 years I decided to commemorate my yearly promotion by getting myself a watch. I started with the Seiko SKX 007, which took place of my stolen Orange Monster, and has been through hell and kept going.

After that, I got my Omega Seamaster 300 2543.80, which has been my absolute favorite watch. It's the only quartz watch in my collection and it feels absolutely at home on my wrist.

I don't know what drew me to the Breitling Superocean A17340, but the thing is an overbuilt tank and I love it.

IMHO the most mechanically brilliant watch of the group is the Tutor Heritage Black Bay GMT Pepsi 79830 I got last year, I absolutely love everything about this watch, even the ridiculous thickness. I literally have had coworkers think I was being rude rushing them, when in reality I was just marveling at this beauty.

Rounding out the collection was this year's promotion and "goal watch," a 2008 Rolex Submariner 16610. What can I say about this watch that hasn't been said 10,000 times, definitely lives up to the hype.
