Collector Description:

These three get me through most occasions. The marathon is my everyday watch, the shark is my surfing and fishing watch and the marlin my dress. Definitely looking for something with a bracelet in the 36mm-38mm range. I’m interested in maybe a diver or explorer type watch nothing too big or flashy. Not looking for anything similar to what I already got except maybe a upgrade for the marlin. I’m looking for something with a bracelet next for $1000-$1500 range would love to hear suggestions.

Avg Rating: 2140.33 = Hublot Classic Fusion Titanium (2072) / Rolex Datejust 36 Gold (2339) / JLC Reverso Classic Manual Wind (2010)

Collector Description:

Rate my 3 watch ‘wearable’ collection please.

Please don’t insult the Hublot lol, it’s the most comfortable to wear and it’s titanium so it’s light too.

These are my three main ‘everyday’ wearers; I also have a number of vintage watches (Omega, Cartier’s and Rolex) but they are too delicate to wear so they live in the safe as investments.

I probably wear the Reverso and the Hublot the most as I tend to wear them to the office but the Rolex is more to wear out if I’m wearing gold jewellery.

Please be nice.

What a sprint it's been!

I think I see what everyone means when they say that watch collecting can be an addiction; 1.5 months into this hobby and 7 watches later. That being said, most of my pieces are fairly inexpensive, my most expensive watch by far is the Trafford I picked up 2nd hand off a buddy for $500.

I wanted to try a bit of everything and I think I've done that; I've got digital, mechanical, automatic, new pieces, 2nd hand pieces, 1 vintage piece, all in a variety of styles and dial colors.

I think I'm done collecting for now, and I like to be a bit more picky moving forward. Some pieces I'm eyeing moving forward include:

  • Seiko Alpinist

  • Hamilton Khaki

And some more attainable yet aspirational pieces are:

  • Junghans Max Bill

  • Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

With **strong historical significance, premium materials, and versatile functionality**, this trio excels in **brand prestige, movement quality, and aesthetic variety**. However, **it leans heavily toward sporty/tool watches** and **could benefit from a traditional dress watch or a more complex complication to enhance balance**. --- ## **Overall Collection Rating: 8.8/10.0** - **Brand Metric (9.5/10.0)** **Omega and Cartier are two of the most prestigious Swiss luxury brands**, known for **heritage, innovation, and design excellence**. **Omega dominates professional tool watches**, while **Cartier is an undisputed leader in luxury and dress watches**. - **History & Innovation Metric (9.4/10.0)** The **Moonwatch carries NASA’s spaceflight legacy**, while **the Seamaster Diver 300M has a strong connection to James Bond and professional diving**. The **Cartier Santos is one of the world’s first wristwatches**, originally designed for aviation. **All three models hold deep historical significance**. - **Dials & Design Metric (9.3/10.0)** **The collection features excellent dial variety**, from the **highly legible chronograph layout of the Moonwatch**, to the **wave-pattern ceramic dial of the Seamaster**, and the **black ADLC-coated boldness of the Santos**. **All three watches exhibit distinct, well-executed designs**. - **Functions Metric (9.0/10.0)** **The collection covers a strong range of practical functions**—a **chronograph, a dive watch with helium escape valve, and a water-resistant luxury sports watch with high durability**. The **Moonwatch’s Co-Axial chronograph movement and the Seamaster’s 300m water resistance add technical prowess**. - **Movement Metric (8.9/10.0)** The **Omega Co-Axial Master Chronometer movements in the Moonwatch and Seamaster offer superior precision, anti-magnetism, and durability**. The **Cartier Santos' automatic movement is reliable, though less decorated than the Omega calibers**. - **Versatility Metric (8.8/10.0)** **The collection performs well across multiple scenarios, from casual to business and adventure wear**. However, **the collection lacks high-horology complications like a perpetual calendar or tourbillon**. - **Cohesiveness Metric (7.8/10.0)** The **collection maintains a strong theme of luxury sportiness** but **leans toward tool watches rather than a well-balanced selection of timepieces across categories**. **Adding a classic dress watch would enhance cohesion**. --- ## **Collection Strengths** - **A perfect mix of sporty and avant-garde luxury watches**. - **Iconic timepieces from Omega and Cartier with strong historical backgrounds**. - **Robust movement performance with METAS-certified precision and durability**. - **Well-rounded aesthetic appeal, with classic, modern, and bold design elements**. --- ## **Ideas for Improvement** 1. **Add a Classic Dress Watch for Formality & Balance** – The collection **leans heavily toward sport/luxury tool watches**. This would streamline the collection and enhance its focus on travel-ready pieces. ## Watch by Watch Summary 1. **Yema Superman 500 GMT Polheim LE-100 (7.8) - Price Estimate: $900** - Brand (7.0), History & Innovation (7.0), Rarity (8.0), Material (7.5), Dials & Design (7.5), Movement (7.5), Complications (8.0), Functions (8.5), Versatility (8.0) - Limited edition GMT watch with robust water resistance and a unique design. 2. **Zenith Port Royal Quartz (7.5) - Price Estimate: $800** - Brand (7.5), History & Innovation (6.5), Rarity (6.5), Material (7.0), Dials & Design (7.0), Movement (8.0), Complications (6.5), Functions (7.5), Versatility (7.5) - Quartz precision with a classic design, suitable for formal and casual settings. 3. **Seiko 5 Sports GMT (7.2) - Price Estimate: $475** - Brand (6.5), History & Innovation (6.0), Rarity (6.0), Material (6.5), Dials & Design (7.0), Movement (7.0), Complications (7.5), Functions (7.0), Versatility (7.5) - Affordable GMT watch with a sporty design, ideal for everyday wear. 4. **Timex Giorgio Galli S1 Automatic 38mm (7.0) - Price Estimate: $475** - Brand (6.0), History & Innovation (6.0), Rarity (6.0), Material (6.5), Dials & Design (6.5), Movement (7.0), Complications (6.0), Functions (7.0), Versatility (7.0) - Stylish automatic watch with a minimalist design, suitable for casual and formal occasions.

Collector Description:

Beginning collection as a college student.

Hey guys so I’m new to collecting. I got into watches and went down the rabbit hole a little over a year ago now. To the left is a timex expedition chronograph which the battery is dead and I don’t wear anymore. It was the first watch I bought freshman year of college. In the middle is my combat sub I bought last year and this was my first I guess somewhat real watch I’ve bought. I bought it after I got into watches. To the right is my brand new Seiko x nano universe I just bought and receive the other day from someone. Great condition and I decided to throw it on a bond nato, but the bracelet is the best I’ve experienced yet and it’s by far my favorite watch in this collection.

Anyways I just wanted to share to you guys the beginning of what hopefully will be a growing and someone become a great collection and have some of my grails. I do plan on replacing the combat sub with a Baltic titanium, what do y’all think about that?

Collector Description:

My Field and Pilot Tool watch collection.

I've been into this stuff since around 2015 when I started wearing Gshocks. Once I started looking toward nicer watches, the Hamilton Khaki series really captivated me because I like the field watch asthetic, and those are a great value. I think field and pilot watches are easy to read, not too flashy, and fit in on most occasions. I've bought and sold a few watches over time and learned I really don't like bright colors, or the thick squared off case profiles you find on a lot of dive watches. But I do prefer a water resistance that is appropriate for swimming, which was a factor when adding the Sinn and Longines to the box. The CWC is the really the only chronograph I've come across that I like enough to own. Not very thick, very legible, and has very understated dimensions. It's an under the radar collectable watch that blends in.

Next I would love to add a black bay 54. Thanks for looking.
