This collection excels in its versatility and design, offering a well-rounded selection that caters to various tastes and occasions. The standout piece, the Oris James Morrison Academy Of Music Limited Edition, adds a touch of exclusivity and musical inspiration, enhancing the collection's identity. The Hamilton Khaki Field Murph Auto brings a cinematic allure, appealing to fans of classic film and adventure. Meanwhile, the Citizen Silver Leaf Lacquer NB1060-12L introduces a unique artistic element with its lacquered dial, and the Geckota W-02 Vintage Racing Chronograph offers a nod to motorsport enthusiasts with its vintage racing aesthetic. This collection is ideal for a collector who appreciates a mix of styles and functions, from the elegance of limited editions to the practicality of everyday wear. The collection's strengths lie in its ability to cover a wide range of use cases, from formal events to casual outings, while maintaining a cohesive aesthetic through its focus on quality craftsmanship and distinctive design elements. The intended collector profile is someone who values both the historical significance and modern innovation in watches, seeking pieces that tell a story and offer unique features. ## Overall Collection Rating: 7.4/10.0 - **Versatility Metric (8.5/10.0)** - The collection covers a broad range of use cases, from formal to casual and sport, with each watch contributing to different scenarios. - **Dials & Design Metric (8.2/10.0)** - The collection features a variety of dial designs, including the artistic lacquer of the Citizen and the vintage racing style of the Geckota, showcasing significant craftsmanship and originality. - **Functions Metric (8.0/10.0)** - Each watch offers practical features such as water resistance and legibility, with the Oris providing additional functionality through its limited edition status. - **Material Metric (7.8/10.0)** - The use of quality materials like stainless steel and unique finishes like lacquered dials adds depth to the collection, though more variety in rare materials could enhance the score. - **Brand Metric (7.5/10.0)** - The collection includes reputable brands like Oris and Hamilton, known for their heritage and quality, balanced by emerging brands like Geckota. - **History & Innovation Metric (7.3/10.0)** - The collection reflects historical significance with pieces like the Hamilton Murph, though it could benefit from more groundbreaking innovations. - **Movement Metric (7.0/10.0)** - The collection features reliable automatic movements, with room for improvement in technical complexity and finishing. - **Complications Metric (6.8/10.0)** - While the collection includes basic complications, it lacks advanced features that could elevate its score. - **Rarity Metric (6.5/10.0)** - The Oris limited edition adds exclusivity, but the overall production numbers are relatively high, limiting the rarity score. - **Cohesiveness Metric (6.0/10.0)** - The collection's diverse themes and styles reduce overall harmony, though they showcase an eclectic taste. ## Collection Strengths, Ideas for Improvement, Downsizing Advice ### Collection Strengths The collection's key strengths include its versatility across different styles and occasions, the artistic and unique dial designs, and the inclusion of reputable brands that offer quality and heritage. ### Ideas for Improvement 1. **Add a High-End Complication**: Introduce a watch with advanced complications like a moonphase or perpetual calendar to enhance the collection's technical depth. Example: Longines Master Collection Moonphase (Price: ~$1,500). 2. **Incorporate Rare Materials**: Include a watch with rare materials such as titanium or ceramic to diversify the material range. Example: Rado HyperChrome Ceramic (Price: ~$1,200). 3. **Enhance Movement Complexity**: Add a watch with a more complex movement, such as a chronograph with an in-house caliber, to improve the movement metric. Example: Seiko Presage Chronograph (Price: ~$1,000). ### Downsizing Advice Consider removing the Geckota W-02 Vintage Racing Chronograph, as it overlaps with the Hamilton in terms of style and does not significantly impact the collection's overall rating. My current state of my collection. I have a few more interesting pieces coming but this is it at the moment.
What do you guys think? I have a few doubles as crazy as that may sound. I will have to do something about that.
I’m not into divers or chronographs so those will always be missing but I like pretty much anything else as long as it’s a unique design or character.

Collector Description:
8 years, 8ish watches. I'm at a point in the hobby where I feel like I've rounded out my collection and I find myself wanting to cull a few pieces.
My SBGA415 gets less and less wear lately even though I'm still attached to it. I pretty much only wear my Nomos when traveling but even then I prefer my G-Shock.
Not pictured are a rhodium gray OP 39 and a Ming 37.07 that I've already decided to part ways with.
Two pieces on my short list are the De Rijke Miffy Moonphase and maybe the new FOIS. I would ditch my numbered edition if I were to get that. I'm still on the fence about the fauxtina and the stepped dial after seeing it in person.
For the more experienced collectors out there, how do you decide when it's time to move on from a piece?

The inclusion of both classic and modern designs adds to its appeal, making it a well-rounded collection for any watch enthusiast. ### Ideas for Improvement 1. **Increase Rarity**: Introduce a limited edition or unique piece to enhance the collection's exclusivity. Consider the Omega Speedmaster "Silver Snoopy Award" for its limited production and historical significance. 2. **Enhance Material Variety**: Add a watch with exotic materials, such as a ceramic or carbon fiber case, to diversify the material range.
