Description:
After a lot of fluctuation, my 4 watch rotation:

Have always worn a watch and owned a few at a time, but really got into collecting just before and during Covid.

My “covid hobby” became building and modding watches but I’ve backed off that part of the hobby recently with a new appreciation of what goes into making timepieces.

Never got too wild, but I think the height of my collection was over 20 watches. Recently, after much buying/selling/trading, I’ve settled into this 4 watch rotation that covers all of my needs (for now at least) and I’m really happy with them. I still have a handful more that I don’t wear as often (a couple I built and some gifts mostly), but these are what I wear everyday. I like to think it’s a somewhat unique collection without the “must-haves” a lot of folks turn to.

From left to right:

Longines Lyre on a leather strap. Love the simplicity of this one but wasn’t a fan of the bracelet it came with. On the leather, I can dress this up or down easily and it sees the most daily wear.

Trafford Crossroads on the bracelet. Backed the Kickstarter for this and bought the bracelet recently at the DC watch show. Love the uniqueness of the case and how well the bracelet suits it. And the dial is gorgeous.

Zodiac Super Sea Wolf Aquamarine Dream. As soon as I saw this watch I knew I had to have one. Teal is my favorite color and I love how this edition is just slightly different from the regular line with the rounded edges on the indices. It was my first “nice” (read: somewhat expensive) watch and I don’t see myself ever letting this one go.

Christopher Ward C60 Trident Pro 300. How are these so reasonably priced? The quality and the finish on these is awesome and fit the spot of “black dial diver” in my collection without just being another sub homage. My most recent acquisition and I haven’t taken it off in the week I’ve had it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/gteIlBdKkt

Avg Rating: 1032 = Lorier Zephyr (1000) / Aristo Triple Calendar Chronograph (1633) / Laco Augsburg 39 (922) / Orient Bambino 2nd Gen (573)

Description:
Did some Black Friday shopping for new straps to spice up the collection. Put a taupe Epsom on the Lorier Zephyr, a dark alligator on the vintage chronograph, a Pueblo row stitch on the Laco Pro, and a blue nubuck on the Orient. I really love the Lorier and the new strap makes it feel brand new!

Aristo Triple Calendar Chronograph - I found it in one of my parents drawers the other day! The brand is Aristo and it’s a German company. Appears to be a modified Valjeaux movement and was made sometime in the 1960s. I need to take it to a local shop to see if it can be cleaned / serviced.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/BdokBnZC2j

Description:
I just added the Monta Triumph to my collection over the weekend. So far, I love everything about this piece. The bracelet is great, the finish/quality seems outstanding and I love the dial. I don’t mean to gravitate towards the micro brands, but the quality of my last two additions, Formex and Monta, have been extremely hard to beat for the price. This Monta checked all the boxes for me and so far I’m thrilled with it.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/15qyyi3/sotc_slowly_growing/?share_id=vYQRwdmObfe7oN5Oqzxcg&utm_content=1&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

The Tudor is a great watch bit sometimes I feel it's a little boring. The moonswatch I got on the grey market as I don't live anywhere near a Swatch boutique.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PrideAndPinion/s/YnMOm2cNj3

Avg Rating: 930.75 = Garmin Instinct 2S Solar (912) / Timex Weekender 38mm (0) / Longines Spirit Zulu Time (1739) / Seiko Presage Automatic SRPC97J1 (1072)

Description:
Garmin Instinct 2s - My “beater” watch that I use for gym, sports, camping, and any other event that requires lots of physical activity.

Timex Weekender 38mm - My casual watch. I live on an island so shorts and flip-flops are the norm most of the time. Basically my GADA when my Zulu is too much.

Longines Zulu Spirit 39mm - This became my grail as soon as I tried it on in person. Absolutely beautiful. The 39mm on my 6.5in wrist is as perfect as it gets when it comes to fit, even with the notoriously long and straight case. My GADA and in some cases I’m sure I’ll strap it on as my dress watch.

Seiko Presage “Fuyugeshiki” - My very first expensive watch ($500). I bought this to serve as my dress watch but find myself reaching for it in casual wear. That was before I got my Zulu. My favorite element is the textured dial. Absolutely beautiful.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/comments/168gt0a/sotc_4watch_collection/?share_id=iVe66WkT87IF5xt6srMeB&utm_content=1&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

Description:
My perfect 4 watch collection. I personally think that 4 is the perfect number for a watch collection. I started in 2020 when i was 19 years old collecting seiko 5s. Job after job, i always set aside some money for watches, they always fascinate me , in those 4 years i made a lot of mistakes and waste a lot of money buying watch i didnt wear or liked, but now even if my watches are nothing fancy i can say i'm that proud of my collection and i will never sell those 4 watches!

Avg Rating: 770.25 = Timex Weekender Chronograph (6) / Shinola Filson Mackinaw Field Quartz (727) / Hamilton Aviation Pilot Day Date "Interstellar" (1290) / TACS Automatic Vintage Lens II (1058)

Description:
My small but cherished four watch collection. Probably way too much justification for why I have these, but it’s why I’m here. Roast if you’d like; could be fun 🤷🏼‍♂️

Timex Weekender Chronograph: This one was my foray into watches. Several years ago I started a retail job where I needed a watch to be able to check the time (there was a strict no phone policy), so I found something cheap that looked nice. I still think the Weekender has one of the most timeless, elegantly simple designs to date. 2) Filson Mackinaw Field Watch (made by Shinola): I know that Shinola doesn’t get a lot of love around here, and I absolutely agree that they’re an overpriced experiment in marketing, but this has to be one of the most attractive watches I’ve seen that, specifically in this cream/bronze build, bridges the gap between rugged and classy. I ultimately made the purchase only because I found this one for about half the original MSRP from Filson directly, and because as a Detroiter it felt like I was supporting a local business. 3) Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pilot Day Date Auto: This one holds a special, spiteful place in my heart. I purchased this one after a failed engagement. We’d been engaged for about a year and a half, but at the time of our engagement I was in a big transitional period of my life and strapped for cash. I proposed with a very modest but beautiful vintage diamond ring from my grandmother with plans to purchase a “better” ring in the future when funds allowed it. When the time came we designed a custom ring together and waited about a month for its arrival. A week after we received the new ring my fiancée left me saying that she no longer loved me. I received a partial refund and promptly bought this watch for myself. I’d been wanting a decent automatic for a while and this one caught my eye. 4) TACS Automatic Vintage Lens II: This one is my least worn but also my most treasured. With a 52mm case length and 15.5mm case thickness this thing is an absolute unit, especially on my lean wrist. Its Miyota movement is nothing special but I think the design process that went into his watch is amazing. The attention to detail is impeccable, the camera aesthetic is very unique and eye-catching without being too over the top, and the fit and finish is a delight to behold. The sheer amount of material utilized and the satisfying weight it amounts to in your hand is enough value to make this one a steal at its price point. As an artist I fell in love with this watch as soon as I stumbled across it online. My girlfriend at the time knew I’d been eyeing it, so when I proposed she got this for me as an engagement gift, complete with customized engraving. I wore it on my wedding day, and going on a year and a half of healthy, loving marriage, I wear it whenever we find a special occasion to celebrate us.

Note: I like brown leather straps

https://www.reddit.com/r/Watches/s/Q1em3BeVMs
