<p class="font_8">SBGH267, the popular “Whirlpool” dial, limited to 1,500 pieces, my first Grand Seiko. Choosing my favorite of these three watches is hard, but honestly it’s this one (even though the Kiku gets more wrist time). Shout out to my local watch expert <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Sushi_All-Day/" target="undefined"><u>u/Sushi_All-Day</u></a> for getting me started on this whole journey – we talked about this watch so much that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and ended up getting it instead of the Shunbun or Snowflake or Omiwatari as my entry into Grand Seiko. Hi-beat movement, caliber 9S85. On a brown/tobacco crocodile leather strap (which originally came with the next watch on this list).</p>
<p class="font_8">SBGY035, the new red version of the Shunbun dial, nicknamed “Karasawa” and limited to 700 pieces. Honestly one of the most dramatic and iconic dress watches I’ve ever seen, especially because the color makes it much more divisive than, say, a white or blue dress watch. I jumped on this as soon as I saw it released earlier this year – I wanted a red dial watch for my collection, I needed a true dress watch, and my birthday is right around when this came out. This was a birthday present to myself this year. Manual spring drive, caliber 9R31 movement. On a black ostrich shin leather strap. My autumn watch.</p>
<p class="font_8">With that I think my Grand Seiko collection may be complete (though I’m open to temptations). Automatic, hi-beat, and spring drive. White, blue, red. A GMT, a daily blue dial watch, and a dramatic red dress watch. I’ve loved this journey so much, what an amazing watch brand, and of course I’ll get another if/when I visit Japan again.</p>

Description: <p>Last December I bought my first watch, a Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope. I have rather small wrists and over the course of the year have learned that my taste is in German watches with manually wound movements. My next purchase will hopefully be a Lange 1, but I likely will have to save for several years before I can justify such a big purchase.<br/><br/>Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope - This is the watch that got me interested in collecting. It is very unique and beautiful with a domed crystal. I no longer wear it as much because it is rather thick (14.4 mm) for my wrists and it draws far more attention compared to my other two watches which is a problem in the city. I am also not too happy with the build quality and have had one of the chronograph hands fall off despite minimal use (still needs to be repaired in the photo).<br/><br/>Nomos Metro Data Power Reserve - I absolutely love this watch and it was my second purchase. It has a subtle but playful dial with an interesting power reserve indicator that turns red when it needs to be wound and a large 6 o&#x27;clock date window. The Nomos is what got me interested in thinner watches with manually wound movements and I now prefer them to automatics. I feel that Nomos is excellent value for the money and my only complaint is that there is no quick date set so it can be very time consuming if it runs out of power.<br/><br/>Lange Saxonia Thin - My most worn watch in rotation; sub-6 mm manually wound in pink gold. It is very subtle and I have never had anyone notice it on my wrist. It is a watch that truly is meant to be appreciated by the wearer and nobody else. I think it is one of the best executed dress watches out there, but at the same time is very versatile and works just as well with a t-shirt. No real negatives other than the price. <p class="font_8">I want to share my 3-watch collection with you. Over time, I have owned around 15 different watches, and I have narrowed it down to these 3. This collection is very versatile and covers almost all the bases, in my opinion. I should mention that I don't wear suits or tuxedos and don't plan to anytime soon, so there's no need for a true dress watch in my collection.</p>
<p class="font_8">I have also established the "one in, one out" rule since I don't consider myself a collector, so 3 watches are more than enough.</p>

Description: <p>I&#x27;ve been aiming for a simple but versatile collection and I&#x27;m very happy with how it turned out. These are the final three pieces. There were many, which came and left but these three can keep me content at least for the near-mid future.<br/><br/>Zenith El Primero 1969 tricolor 42mm. One of the coolest chronographs out there. It wears a tad large on the wrist but can be pulled off.<br/><br/>Omega Seamaster 300M 42mm. My daily driver and couldn&#x27;t be happier with it; dress it up or down, it does all.<br/><br/>Longines DolceVita midsize 43.8mm lug to lug. My latest acquisition. I&#x27;ve been eyeing a reverso and later a tank solo for years but didn&#x27;t want to break the bank as I don&#x27;t have too much use for a dress watch. This is a great and affordable alternative to those.<br/><br/>Over the years, I&#x27;ve spent a bit over €10K on these three pieces (all from AD but with tax refund), including an extra strap for each watch.
