Finally feels complete. Am I missing anything?

I’ve always loved watches but my interest in the world of “luxury” watches was piqued when my wife and I traveled to Venice in 2019. Of course, as is common, my tastes changed quite a bit in that first year. After buying and then selling several watches, I decided to define what my ideal collection was to avoid impulse buying and both buyers and sellers remorse.

Since that time, I’ve only purchased watches from that list. This week, I finally picked up the last watch on the list, Rolex GMT-Master II 16710 to celebrate a milestone birthday and the birth of my first child. I’m probably done for a while. But as most of us know, the itch usually comes back around at some point.

I’d love to hear any thoughts on the collection and/or any thoughts on what might be a good next watch. In my mind, a steel dress watch like a JLC Reverso or Grand Seiko might be a cool option.

Just got my 6th Watch to finish the case!

Any suggestions if I get another Box? I Like fun unique looking watches under $500.

Finally finished my collection and super pumped. At first wanted all unique brands so had a Casio because the internet said they’re great and a Moonswatch but didn’t fall in love with them. Everything here I know I want to wear daily.

Also have a Emporio thats not really my style but got for my HS graduation and was my first watch so somewhat sentimental. Thinking I might try to find a funky strap to dress it up. Any suggestions? Also it needs a new battery for that one. Will be my first time. Any suggestions also on where to take cheaper watches to get a new battery?

Feeling like I'm gonna sit on this set for a bit. Loving the attention to detail, design, and nuances that differentiate these 3.

Loving the latest jlc squadra addition, including the jlc crew helping me to geek out on the significance of the 975 cal movement, as well as the abuse aimed at my strap choice 😆

Got all my use cases covered ✅️

Can't justify price of things I like better.

Can't justify more than 3 watches (already probably too indulgent).

Collector:

Been collecting for 3-4 years, slowly trying to find my tastes for watches. Pretty happy with where the collection is at now, especially since a few of these were milestone purchases and everything but the CW was second-hand. Got my eyes on a couple more way down the aspirational road (Fears Brunswick, SBGM221, AnOrdain), though I’m going to pump the breaks for a while on new watches. Have never really gotten into submariner-adjacent watches, but always happy to hear recs. For reference, my wrist is 7.5”

Christopher Ward C3 Grand Tourer (quartz)

As for straps: the riveted pilot, denim leather, and grey saffiano are all from Strapify. Thanks for reading

Collector:

Turning 30, Reflecting on my Watch Journey

I recently ran across watch Reddit past few months and love hearing others' insights, seeing others' collections, and learning more about timepieces. As I’m about to hit 30 in a few months, I wanted to share my SOTC especially since I've only been seriously into watches for the past 2-3 years. It all started as a casual interest when my parents gifted me a watch and it quickly turned into a full-blown passion (or obsession, depending on who you ask).

Looking at what I've gathered so far, I’m starting to realize that my most recent purchase, an A. Lange, might be a sign that it's time to slow down and enjoy what I’ve got before making another big leap (psychologically – I feel a bit of guilt for purchasing such an expensive piece; even though it's a comfortable purchase objectively).

Here’s a quick tour of what’s in the box:

Breitling Premier B01 "Panda": My first luxury watch purchase 2 years ago. My father had a Navitimer and few others so I naturally first went towards Breitling. I wore the Panda a lot the first year, but its write time has decreased as my taste has evolved and as I've gotten more pieces. I love that it’s sporty and versatile. Actually looking to move this piece - you can find it here.

Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch: No collection feels complete without a Speedy, right? My cousin had recently gotten a Moonswatch and I first learned about Speedy's 2 years ago. The minute I learned about the history, I was hooked. Bought it during a layover internationally. This is a favorite and a regular on my wrist every week.

  1. A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Up/Down: My most recent and significant addition. I fell in love with the craftsmanship and elegance of Lange. I dove deep into learning about their movemens, finishing, etc. So much to the point that I ordered a Loupe and can't wait to look more closely at the movement in a couple days. This piece is nothing short of stunning. It’s made me realize I might need to pace myself—both in terms of finances and in appreciating the watches I already have!
  2. Cartier Santos Dumont: I had been eying a Tank for a while before I was in Monaco for vacation. I then walked into a showroom and fell in love with the Dumont. This duo-tone Santos Dumont is on a dark-blue leather band by Cartier. Out of all of my watches, this piece gets the most compliments interestingly enough. I also love dressing this up and dressing it down. Another regular!

Raymond Weil: The watch that started it all! My parents gifted this when I came out of college. Simple and still elegant. Reminder of where I began – both in my watch journey, but also in the start of my entrepreneurship journey.

Casio F-91W: The ultimate beater. I picked this up for nostalgia's sake, and it’s fun to throw on and I actually love the aesthetic of it. I used to rock an Apple Watch a ton, but made the switch to Whoop to accomodate more interesting watches. I wear this at the gym a ton to time sets and also for casual everyday wear if I know I'll be out and about.

Moonswatch "White Side of the Moon": This one’s probably the most polarizing in the collection. It’s bold, it’s bright, and a bit much for me in hindsight. I mainly got this because of the Snoopy in it. Want to get a true Omega Snoopy Speedy, but seems impossible to get unless on the grey market. I'd love suggestions on straps for this because otherwise, it is a bit too chunky with the Nato velcro strap.

Looking back, it's been a crazy journey. If you told me that I'd spend as much $$$ as I have had on watches, I'd tell you I was crazy. That being said, I couldn’t be happier with how my collection has shaped up. I'd love to hear suggestions on what you think I could add to my collection in future years. Currently on a waitlist with my AD for a Pepsi GMT. Besides that, I think the next couple of years might be about slowing down, wearing what I have, and really appreciating each piece. Also taking a break financially to positively adjust my watch collection as a smaller and smaller % of my networth lol. Maybe even passing on a few to make room for something new down the line.

Thanks for letting me share, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice as I approach this next decade of life—and watch collecting!

Collector:

Let me know what y'all think. Hoping to get feedback. From left to right:

The one that started it all, Longines Flagship Heritage (2012).

Seiko Baby Tuna SUT421P (2024) - more a present for my wife since I don't really wear divers myself but this is a solid solar powered quartz.

TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf 2018 Special Edition - got it to commemorate a big professional milestone, saw it IRL once and knew it was the LHD for me. The orange pops like nothing else and you'd be surprised how quickly you get accustomed to the heft.

GADA? IWC Mark XX (Blue) on bracelet - talked myself out of one but then got this for a steal second hand and I can't stop wearing it.

Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen - I live in the southern hemisphere and this is one of the few world timers that supports/displays that.

Have basically picked up one watch a year since 2020 (have retired and sold a couple) and still thinking on my next purchase, but that won't be for a while... what would be a solid Diver option? Would love to get your recommendations to complement this 5W collection

Not a perfect collection by any means but felt like sharing

Definitely not a super high budget collection by any means, but finally feel pretty content with where I’m at and don’t plan on buying another watch for a long time, if at all.

Also have a G-Shock GWM5610-1 that I only wear for hiking and what not. Been into watches for about 4 years now and feel pretty content with where I’m at. I wear the Bambino the least (as I don’t frequently dress formally), but all the other watches get pretty even time on wrist. Long term I don’t think I’d ever go beyond this quantity at one time.
