What's missing?

Cards on the table, the pieces I already have on the list are:

Mid 80’s or early 90’s Rootbeer. I find these both disgusting and beautiful at the same time 😂

GS snowflake, probably used as much more reasonable.

Vintage GS, early 60’s.

Birth year (1993) Tudor sub.

Snoopy (obviously an unachievable expensive dream).

Birth year Explorer 1

10 - Bulova / Orient / Timex / Orient / Citizen / Seiko / Bulova / Citizen / Nixoid / Sugess - 202401211831

Collector:

Gotta say I’m quite proud of how unique my collection is with the budget I’ve had.
I’m not so insane to type a full paragraph of every watch in here so I’ll go over some of my favorites.

Bulova Lunar Pilot: First year wedding anniversary gift from my wife it’s probably my favorite watch and gets the most wrist time. It goes with every outfit and has kept almost atomic level time for three years straight.

Orient Day Date: The Patina on this thing is amazing and I think it not being a Rolex has allowed me to wear it more as something like a Rolex would become a safe queen for me.

Snoopy Timex: Snoopy

Citizen Moonphase: Another vintage like the Orient this thing is a quartz Moonphase that has a battery life of a whopping 5 months or so and for a watch that takes about 30 minutes to set I think it stays in the box and is nice to look at.

This eclectic 10-watch collection emphasizes affordable value from Japanese powerhouses like Orient, Citizen, and Seiko alongside American brands Bulova and Timex, accented by microbrand picks, blending rugged tool divers and GMTs with refined dress watches, fun pop-culture collabs, and vintage-inspired chronographs powered mostly by reliable automatics and high-tech quartz movements, ideal for the budget-savvy enthusiast who prioritizes variety and daily versatility over high-end prestige.

8 - Ming / Audemars Piguet / Rolex / Seiko / Omega / Zenith / Patek Philippe / JLC - 202401210901

Collector:

My favorite release of Watches & Wonders 2023. I rushed over to the JLC boutique to put my name down and 7 months later I got the call. They said I'm 1 of 2 to receive it this year and they have over 300 pre-orders (that boutique alone). This is a grail level piece for me and I feel very lucky to be an owner of a very special JLC. This watch already looks insane in photos, it's even better in real life.

During my short trip to Boston I stopped by an AD to do some window shopping. Originally, I was interested in the Moonshine Gold Moonwatch, especially the green one. I thought the green was too dark, almost black. The Canopus Gold model had never crossed my mind in photos, but in person, WOW. Definitely was an impulse buy, but I am over the moon 🌝

Many of you have probably never heard of this piece. It's a very special Ming coming out of their Special Projects Cave. It's a LE of 100 pieces to commemorate Ming's 5 year anniversary. The movement is quite legendary that was designed by Journe, Halter and Flageollet for the Cartier Tortue Monopoussoir. It has become one of my favorite watches to wear in my collection.

Aquanaut - The zenith of my collection. Arguably, the holy grail of sport watches. This piece exudes a timeless allure that transcends mere functionality. Would I ever travel with this watch? Hell no. Envision a scenario wherein I would consider such a vacation: an exclusive retreat in an all-inclusive 5-star resort. The notion appears dreadfully mundane, lacking the thrill and excitement one might associate with globetrotting.

I have been building this set for 4 years now. All from Authorized Dealers… my first watch is the Breitling Avenger Skyland.

4 - Zenith / Vacheron Constantin / Vacheron Constantin / Vincent Calabrese - 202401200326

Collector:

Sharing the four watches in my current rotation that get a lot of wrist time.

Zenith Chronometer Sport: Always been a fan of Zenith and the chronomaster sport. Love the sub dials and the useful date function.

VC Triple Calendrier: A slightly bigger watch but similar lug design a well finished watch overall. The sunburst dial along with the choice of font for the hour markers gives it a Neo vintage look.

VC Cornes De Vachs: I am biased here, but personally I feel this is the most handsome watch ever made. Love the design of the lugs and the proportions.

NHC Ottica: This is from an independent watch-maker named Vincent Calabrese, who is credited for the golden bride tourbillon. In addition to the rare jump/wandering hours complication, the watch has another party trick. When turned a bit, the time indications seem to disappear and all you see is an endless crystal expanse; hence the name Ottica (for optical illusion).

Edit: The watchbox is from Scatola Del Tempo

3 - Omega / Grand Seiko / Girard Perregaux - 202401160351

Collector:

My three watch collection for now. I try and tick the boxes for diversity in dial, maker, material, and function.

Omega Seamaster Professional 300M Steel, Blue ceramic bezel and dial, co-axial automatic movement, incredible lume, etc. Dive/tool watch, but I doubt I ever take it scuba diving with me.

Grand Seiko ‘Winter’ Titanium, Unbelievable dial, Spring Drive movement. Dress/Work attire watch.

Girard Perregaux Monopusher Chronograph Vintage, brass case, gold crown, porcelain dial. Manual drive movement. Wear for special occassions, change strap depending on informal/formal attire.

If I was to go for five, what watches should I look into? Ive always wanted a bronze case, a green dial, and a funky fun watch (Like a Mr. Jones/Seconde Seconde).

Got my first mechanical watch, the Hamilton Khaki in college about ten years ago and picked up each of these a year or so apart after that. Seems like that aesthetic really stuck with me. Didn’t notice until I put them all in a line, latest pick up is the iwc spitfire. Maybe an explorer II polar next since I like tool watches with bracelets.
