3 - Tissot / Grand Seiko / Grand Seiko - 202310081218

Collector:

Yesterday was the day: I picked up my grail. The SBGA211.
The watch itself needs no introduction or explanation. Y'all know it and I wanted it. Badly. So the other day I drove 3h (one way) to pick it up personally. And what a ride it was.
Now I hold it in my hands and I can (safely) say that I'm at a point in my "collectors" journey where I consider my collection as "final", hence SOT(F)C.
Here's the mini-collection:

Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 – Green Dial
This watch is my true entry-point into the game of watches. The Quartz was my first "real" watch after wearing an Apple watch for a year and what an Odyssey it was. I had so many iterations of the PRX, including the Chrono, and so many issues with nearly all of them that now, with the one piece that's not plagued with issues that I just keep it for the sake of it. And this is the only watch that I can and will wear on the (original) Rubber Straps.

Grand Seiko SBGN003
This one was my first "luxury" watch that I bought after selling off all my other watches that I had at that time (including the massive PRX Chrono). This GS also was the start of my hunt for a reasonably priced SBGA211, after I devoured everything I could find about GS. The Snowflake, even though it may be the most prominent one, spoke to me on so many levels. Which led to the following...

Grand Seiko SBGA211
Here it is: My "final" piece. I just love it. For in-depth reviews check out any video on YouTube. I just wanna enjoy it a little while longer...

SOT(F)C - And this is it: The humble "collection" I call my own since the 7th of October. (Not pictured is my G-Shock GA2100 Metal Utility Series)

4 - Formex / Monta / Longines / Seiko - 202310072128

Collector:

I just added the Monta Triumph to my collection over the weekend. So far, I love everything about this piece. The bracelet is great, the finish/quality seems outstanding and I love the dial. I don’t mean to gravitate towards the micro brands, but the quality of my last two additions, Formex and Monta, have been extremely hard to beat for the price. This Monta checked all the boxes for me and so far I’m thrilled with it.

4 - Orient / Hamilton / Nomos / Omega - 202310070017

Collector:

My collection started with the Tangente and it just gradually grew over time. My most recent addition was the Murph in 38, and I’ve been really enjoying it so far - I wanted a black dial watch (and I love Interstellar), so this reference just made sense to me. Next on my list is probably the GS SBGY013 followed by a mint green Datejust.

6 - Cartier / Tudor / Garmin / Rolex / Glashutte Original / Rolex - 202309292015

Collector:

Have enjoyed watches for most of my life, and thankfully have had the means to pursue and explore the hobby more over the last 10 years.

My first luxury watch was an Explorer 214270, commemorating a big milestone. Years and many transactions later I've landed here - 6 watches with different vibes and functions, all getting similar amounts of wear time. Who knows how long this season will last, but enjoying it in the mean time.
From L to R, top then bottom:

2010s Cartier Tank Américaine
2022 Tudor Ranger
Fenix 7s (w/ Solace band)
2010s Rolex Day Date
2022 Gasshütte Original SeaQ
2023 Rolex GMT-Master II
The Sprite was the most recent pickup - I loved the colorway (matches my SeaQ and DD), and surprisingly, love wearing a watch on my right hand. Have since started switch-hitting with all my watches.

Thanks for taking a look.
