Top 10 after 4 years. Used to be all Seikos until last year. Totally gave in to the Swatch collaborations. I’ve decided to stop for now to save up for a higher end one in time for my 40th but I still can’t decide between an Omega Speedmaster, Tudor Black Bay, or Grand Seiko.

6 - Seiko / Amazfit / Casio / Tudor / Seiko / Casio - 202411090014

Collector:

  1. Seiko Alpinist SPB119J1 : the white dial beauty. Second only in versatility to the Black Bay 58

  2. Amazfit T-Rex 3: I almost regret getting this because I feel guilty everytime I don't wear this to track metrics. But it's rugged, great value, has great tough design

  3. G-SHOCK GWM-B5000PB-6 : the twilight Tokyo is set and forget, and not worried about banging or scratching!

  4. Tudor Black Bay 58 : the ultimate GADA

  5. AFDSeiko 5: my first proper watch from grandmother. Very inaccurate, never selling this.

  6. Casio Enticer : gift from my ex company, wore it as a beater until I could really get into watches.

5 - Seiko / Omega / Breitling / Tudor / Rolex - 202411082053

Collector:

5 years, 5 promotions, 5 watches. I definitely have a type.

Over the past 5 years I decided to commemorate my yearly promotion by getting myself a watch. I started with the Seiko SKX 007, which took place of my stolen Orange Monster, and has been through hell and kept going.

After that, I got my Omega Seamaster 300 2543.80, which has been my absolute favorite watch. It's the only quartz watch in my collection and it feels absolutely at home on my wrist.

I don't know what drew me to the Breitling Superocean A17340, but the thing is an overbuilt tank and I love it.

IMHO the most mechanically brilliant watch of the group is the Tutor Heritage Black Bay GMT Pepsi 79830 I got last year, I absolutely love everything about this watch, even the ridiculous thickness. I literally have had coworkers think I was being rude rushing them, when in reality I was just marveling at this beauty.

Rounding out the collection was this year's promotion and "goal watch," a 2008 Rolex Submariner 16610. What can I say about this watch that hasn't been said 10,000 times, definitely lives up to the hype.

This collection forms a cohesive progression of professional tool dive watches, unified by robust stainless steel cases, unidirectional bezels, luminous dials, and automatic movements with 40–70 hour power reserves, appealing to the dedicated enthusiast who values reliability, legibility, and heritage from everyday beater to ultimate status symbol.

3 - Freestyle / Timex / Marathon - 202411082001

Collector:

These three get me through most occasions. The marathon is my everyday watch, the shark is my surfing and fishing watch and the marlin my dress. Definitely looking for something with a bracelet in the 36mm-38mm range. I’m interested in maybe a diver or explorer type watch nothing too big or flashy. Not looking for anything similar to what I already got except maybe a upgrade for the marlin. I’m looking for something with a bracelet next for $1000-$1500 range would love to hear suggestions.

3 - Hublot / Rolex / JLC - 202411081841

Collector:

Rate my 3 watch ‘wearable’ collection please.

Please don’t insult the Hublot lol, it’s the most comfortable to wear and it’s titanium so it’s light too.

These are my three main ‘everyday’ wearers; I also have a number of vintage watches (Omega, Cartier’s and Rolex) but they are too delicate to wear so they live in the safe as investments.

I probably wear the Reverso and the Hublot the most as I tend to wear them to the office but the Rolex is more to wear out if I’m wearing gold jewellery.

Please be nice.

Collector:

What a sprint it's been!

I think I see what everyone means when they say that watch collecting can be an addiction; 1.5 months into this hobby and 7 watches later. That being said, most of my pieces are fairly inexpensive, my most expensive watch by far is the Trafford I picked up 2nd hand off a buddy for $500.

I wanted to try a bit of everything and I think I've done that; I've got digital, mechanical, automatic, new pieces, 2nd hand pieces, 1 vintage piece, all in a variety of styles and dial colors.

I think I'm done collecting for now, and I like to be a bit more picky moving forward. Some pieces I'm eyeing moving forward include:

  • Seiko Alpinist

  • Hamilton Khaki

And some more attainable yet aspirational pieces are:

  • Junghans Max Bill

  • Oris Big Crown Pointer Date

I'd love to hear your thoughts and suggestions!

Large wrist collection; what am I missing? I used to go exclusively for 44mm watches (previously had a yellow gold Yachtmaster II - 116699, a Panerai Luminor GMT and a Deepsea) as I have large wrists but recently I’ve been picking up 40mm’s and happy with how they sit.
