I thought I would share a few photos of the watches in my collection which has grown over the years to the point where I feel that I have reached the end. I don't really need to buy any more. Or do I...?

2012 Omega Seamaster Diver 300m

This was the first watch ever purchased after I had saved some money after going offshore for a few trips during windfarm construction work and pretty much didn't leave my wrist for 5 years as my daily. It is in my eyes the ideal watch, very legible with excellent lume, it can used for smart or casual, isn't too showy and is built tough. When I first saw it I loved the dash of red on the dial and tip of the second hand, and the tiny fleck of orange/gold which you can see at the base of the hand stack. It has been used and abused, dived with, taken a multiple knocks, has never been serviced and still keeps perfect time. It is now in regular rotation on a variety of NATO straps.

1996 Omega Speedmaster MK40 Triple Date 3520.33

The second watch I purchased after "discovering" Speedmasters but preferring an automatic. I didn't want the hassle of the regular reduced speedy as I understood that the Dubois Depraz module could be tempramental with this instead housing essentially a Valjoux 7751. At the time I was completely taken in by the colours of the dial and the tiny yellow arrow for the date hand, I don't think I've seen too many of these on the wrist which is another appeal vs. a regular speedy.

2013 Rolex Explorer I 214270

A 30th birthday present from my father, the Explorer was never really a watch that I desired, however I knew that it had a special connection to my dad being born in the year that Everest was summited and the fact that he was named after Edmund Hillary. I now absolutely love its simplicity, legible dial and timeless design, being a 36mm as well it also fits my slightly small wrists much better. This has ended up being my watch for special occasions where smart or smart casual is called for.

1967 Rolex GMT Master 1675 "Long E"

Ever since getting into watches I hankered after a GMT Master, the colours of the bezel which just pop, the flat case which sits nicely on the wrist and their timeless appeal. After watching their prices climb steadily I thought I would never be able to afford one unless this popped up for sale at a reasonable sum. This is very much a piece which is only worn occasionally and will ultimately be sold to provide money for when my son is older or gifted to him.

2013 Omega Speedmaster Professional 3573.50 with 3593.20 Italian Albino Cream Dial and Handset

I had always appreciated how the Speedmaster was a significant watch, and would be a nice watch in the collection but there was just something about the white dial of the 45th Anniversary Snoopy which was just chefs kiss. However, again I watched in dismay as prices climbed to ridiculous heights and I knew that I would never own one. Then I saw an article on Fratello with a modified Speedmaster "paramedic mod" with a creamy white dial and red second hand. This was perfect, it had the dash of colour that I like on my watches and the white dial. I had to find /build one! I priced up the build parts and waited to pull the trigger and as if it was meant to be, a modified one with the very dial and handset that I wanted was available for sal, which I snapped up and now wear in regular rotation.

The above watches have been collected over the course of ten years, going through periods of rest (read:saving money) and just enjoying them. I have, in the course of time, been into ADs to register interest in new Submariner and GMT models and never heard a dickie bird. So I stick to the older, slightly more slender models and purchase from Chrono24, reddit and watchuseek; I'm well aware that my collection does not have a particular variety of manufacturers which is fine by me, I just buy watches that I like the look of and to me this collection is perfect.

Our five piece collection, purchased over the course of the last 10 years.

Left to right are a 1973 Grand Seiko, 1972 AirKing, 2010 Tank Française, 2018 Speedy Pro, and 2018 Milgauss.

All get worn often, and are thusly scuffed. Milgauss and Tank are my wife and my dailies.

Want to add a diver next - thinking Tudor, Panerai or an older pepsi dial. Keen on suggestions.

My German two-watch collection - Looking for repair advice on the Junghans.

Well I wanted to show off my perfect (to me) two-watch German collection consisting of a Sinn 556 | B and a Junghans Max Bill Chronoscope. I feel like these two watches do so much heavy lifting and are appropriate for just about any occasion/ dress. Couldn't be happier with my choices! I got the Sinn before my first trip to Austria/ Germany this year to meet my girlfriend's family for the first time - We got engaged on the trip! So there's lots of sentiment there. I bought the Junghans when I got back to balance it out :-)

A couple weeks ago my dearest fiancé (who likes to speak with her hands) accidentally swatted the Junghans out of my hands while I was getting undressed and it hit the bathroom tile, cracking the domed plexiglass crystal. :-(

I went through the repair form submission on Junghans' website only to reach the end and not have an option for residents outside of Austria and Germany. Does anyone have any repair advice they can help me with? If I can get a domed Saphire crystal that would be great, but from what i understand the plexiglass just has a better vintage look to it. I'd like to keep this repaired directly by Junghans if possible but I'm open to anything. Any advice is welcome, thank you!

We don’t usually buy gifts for each other this time of year, but my lovely wife has always wanted a Cartier with diamonds. She has a smaller Tank Francaise from @ 15 years ago and always second-guessed why she didn’t get the diamond bezel model (The easy answer? We couldn’t afford it at the time obviously LOL). So, we tried on a lot of watches and went with the Santos. I absolutely love them both. I thought I’d end up with the blue face but the white just hit me in a classic sort of way and I have an older Omega Seamaster with the blue face. We are both excited!

After 6 years with my SMP300 as my first and only luxury watch, I finally branched out to my second: the Santos.

Hey all - just got the Santos in this morning after falling in love with it at the Cartier boutique! I have been looking for a new watch recently because, although I absolutely love my Omega, I’ve found occasions where it felt too large/not dressy enough.

I had originally been eyeing dress watches specifically but decided I really didn’t want to spend this kind of money only to wear the watch a few times a year. So instead, I switched up my search to find a GADA watch that can also be easily dressed up for any situation. Enter the Santos!

It’s only been on my wrist for a couple hours but it is one comfy, comfy watch. Love the quick link and quick change bracelet technology and it wears so light it almost feels like I’m wearing nothing.

Now I think I’m done…right? Or maybe….

8 years in. A little bit of everything.

From left to right, starting on top row and then to bottom: Maurice Lacroix Phase De Lune Les Classiques - acquired in ~2018. I liked this watch as a broke college student and tracked it down some years later. love this one, but cannot find the right strap to go with it.

Omega Speed Master Sapphire Sandwich- not too much to say. Classic.

Zenith Chronomaster Original - bought to celebrate first child. One of my favorites.

1960s Wakmann Triple Date - newest acquisition. Val72C movement. What’s not to love.

Tag Heuer Carrera 1887 - wedding present from my wife. Been getting more wrist time on leather than the bracelet.

Oris Big Crown Pointer Date - first nice watch I ever bought myself. Getting the least amount of wear right now.

Oris 65 - another blue oris. This one is my “beater” and get the most activity in the lake, with yard work… etc

Tudor BB 58 - uncle Seiko bracelet is doing it for me right now.

Mido Decompression Timer 1961 Rerelease - felt a wanted a diver with a light/spring feel to it. This one hits all the boxes. Fantastic.
