Collector:
Three years into collecting serious watches now. I guess next up will be a chronograph and GMT. Boxes don't need to be ticked off, but I like some variation / dress for the occasion. Only real criterium is that a watch fits my wrist. Since I have a smaller wrist, do you guys have any suggestions based on my collection? I was thinking about a Speedmaster (but not sure about the size) or a Carrera 39.

This diverse 10-watch lineup blends ultra-affordable digital tools like the Casio F91W with entry-luxury icons such as the Cartier Santos Medium and Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight, anchored by Seiko's mix of elegant Presage Cocktail Time dress watches and rugged 5 Sports Diver, alongside modern integrated sports pieces from Tissot PRX and Tudor Royal, plus value mechanicals from Timex Marlin and Orient Bambino; dominated by reliable automatics offering 40-80 hour power reserves, it appeals to budget-savvy enthusiasts building a versatile rotation for office, weekends, and adventures without thematic unity.

4 - Tag Heuer / Seiko / Seiko / Glycine - 202411241414
Collector:
My perfect 4 watch collection. I personally think that 4 is the perfect number for a watch collection. I started in 2020 when i was 19 years old collecting seiko 5s. Job after job, i always set aside some money for watches, they always fascinate me , in those 4 years i made a lot of mistakes and waste a lot of money buying watch i didnt wear or liked, but now even if my watches are nothing fancy i can say i'm that proud of my collection and i will never sell those 4 watches!
AI Review Highlights:
This collection showcases a curated selection of vintage and vintage-inspired tool watches from the late 1960s to 1980s, blending Japanese reliability with Swiss engineering through a deep-sea diver, a bold bullhead chronograph, a hi-beat lord special, and a classic pilot GMT, appealing to collectors who value historical sports watches with practical functions and characterful designs powered mostly by automatic movements (one quartz standout).

My Complete (?) Grand Seiko Collection
From left to right:
SBGM235, the rarer white version of the popular blue whirlpool dial, limited to 1,000 pieces, nicknamed the “Kiku” and my caller GMT watch / dress watch in a pinch. Automatic movement, caliber 9S66 movement. On a midnight blue stingray leather strap.
SBGH267, the popular “Whirlpool” dial, limited to 1,500 pieces, my first Grand Seiko. Choosing my favorite of these three watches is hard, but honestly it’s this one (even though the Kiku gets more wrist time). Shout out to my local watch expert u/Sushi_All-Day for getting me started on this whole journey – we talked about this watch so much that I couldn’t stop thinking about it and ended up getting it instead of the Shunbun or Snowflake or Omiwatari as my entry into Grand Seiko. Hi-beat movement, caliber 9S85. On a brown/tobacco crocodile leather strap (which originally came with the next watch on this list).
SBGY035, the new red version of the Shunbun dial, nicknamed “Karasawa” and limited to 700 pieces. Honestly one of the most dramatic and iconic dress watches I’ve ever seen, especially because the color makes it much more divisive than, say, a white or blue dress watch. I jumped on this as soon as I saw it released earlier this year – I wanted a red dial watch for my collection, I needed a true dress watch, and my birthday is right around when this came out. This was a birthday present to myself this year. Manual spring drive, caliber 9R31 movement. On a black ostrich shin leather strap. My autumn watch.
With that I think my Grand Seiko collection may be complete (though I’m open to temptations). Automatic, hi-beat, and spring drive. White, blue, red. A GMT, a daily blue dial watch, and a dramatic red dress watch. I’ve loved this journey so much, what an amazing watch brand, and of course I’ll get another if/when I visit Japan again.
AI Review Highlights:
This curated trio of limited-edition Grand Seiko watches celebrates key anniversaries with exceptional artisanal dials—enamel chrysanthemum, textured Hi-Beat, and forest landscape—blending Spring Drive precision, Hi-Beat innovation, and GMT functionality in a cohesive display of Japanese high horology for discerning collectors seeking rarity and refinement.

This collection is an extreme monoculture of eleven identical Casio Duro (MDV-106) quartz dive watches, delivering unwavering focus on budget-friendly tool-watch utility with 200m water resistance, rotating bezels, date windows, and excellent lume across a unified blue-wave dial theme. Diversity I’m happy with for now.
Collection has changed quite a bit since I started collecting a few years ago through learning what I like and didn’t like, but diversity was always important to me. What are some cool pieces that would go well in a collection like this?
I’ve been eyeing; orange or aquamarine Doxa 300, broad arrow Nivada Grenchen Chronomaster with the interchangeable bezel on beads of rice, red Tudor BB 41 on jubilee, Hamilton Intramatic Chrono, to name a few.
AI Review Highlights:
This diverse 10-watch ensemble blends vintage-inspired tool watches like the Seiko Prospex Alpinist and Nivada Grenchen F77 diver with retro chronographs such as the Yema Rallygraf and Seiko Speedtimer Solar, elegant dress pieces including the Omega De Ville chocolate dial and Tudor Royal, luxury icons like the Cartier Santos Galbee, and quirky standouts like the Hamilton Ventura, appealing to a versatile collector who prioritizes heritage reissues, daily wearability, and a mix of automatic and quartz movements with power reserves from 40 to 200+ hours where applicable.

Collector:
Rate my collection.
Moser - minimalistic design is typically for them. I wanted one of their watches with this VantaBlack Dial. Whitegold/Gold/Platin Case with this Dial was too expensive for me.
IWC - This watch I’m wearing most of my time
Rolex - I love this dial, all others of them are boring 🥱 for me.
A Lange Sohne Odysseus - It’s a first official stainless steel watch by A. Lange & Söhne. I liked the brand for almost 20 years. Of course I wanted their first stainless steel watch I love the design and how it looks on the wrist. Royal Oak, Nautilus, Overseas or any other of this kind of watches I simply don’t like, because of their design and hype! I bought what I like, and not what social media tells I have to 😉
A Lange Sohne Lange One - My all time favorite! I recognize that ~20 years ago and wanted it sooo badly for so long, I was 5 years ago able to buy it!
